Bit of fun for an alternative party at XMAS ...

Looking for something other than the normal Christmas party tunes? You'll be at the right place next Friday 22nd December if you come along to the fabulous The Alexander Centre, Faversham

I've been promised a mirror ball if I wheel out the vinyl, so lets do this people and see if we can't get a good 'ol Soul Train running.

Expect some Motown to set the party mood, then look for classic weekender tunes mingled with sounds you'd have heard at Stage 3, Greenways, Kent Soul Festival weekends in Margate and Camber Sands plus of course the famous Caister Soul Weekender.

Update! Hop Festival programmes are now on sale. Available today from the Visitor Information Centre at 12 Market Place and the Bear Inn. Just £2 each, for all your Hop Festival information and up to £100 worth of vouchers from local businesses supporting the festival. Further sales points will be available from next week including the Shepherd Neame shop and Creekside Vinyl.

Hi all - RE: XMAS party event - unfortunately a number have pulled out through illness/other committments so its not possible to run.

Please contact The White Lion (01795 383100) for a deposit refund or alternatively they'll welcome you for a festive meal on that day at a really special price (and they've even promised to put a soul playlist on while you eat).

Sorry again to those that will be inconvenienced but after consulting with the Lion's team this does make sense, as disappointing as it may seem.

Unfortunately Steve Kite is having to cancel appearance at the White Lion gig this Sunday - he contacted me last night to say he's really sorry but somehow double-booked himself and will be at The Clarendon Hotel instead, so anyone wanting a "Soulful Sunday" Steve will have to listen in to his radio show which I'll try and put through the speakers before we start. All the best with your gig mate - we waited a good while to make sure you'd be OK to play after your recent health trial and you've been in from the early days since I started Soulful Sundays some years ago, so we really will miss you at this our last - here's to another time, take care ;)

Unfortunately seems holding off on the annoucement was the right thing to do.

After consultation with the team at the White Lion the gig planned for Sunday 27th June is now moved to August Bank Holiday. More details to follow in the fullness of time ...

We will get there folks, just "Hang On In There Baby" as the man sang ... 😉

So, one of a very small number of public gigs I'm doing this year is planned for Sunday 27th June White Lion from 4pm to 10pm. Look for an official announcement over next couple of days - we've been holding off making a big public shout "just in case".
