Wreath action has been in full swing the last few weeks, we have loved hosting workshops and got to meet some amazing customers. Every wreath has been wonderfully made and hope everyone is enjoying them.

This weekend, I got to celebrate one of my friend on her hen do. What a lovely weekend I had and I loved making dried flower crowns for the occasion. Don’t I have gorgeous friends!

I may be early but I missed these workshops soo much last year. I love Christmas, love teaching and love seeing all our customers. Our Christmas wreaths workshops are on our website book now before they are all gone. We will be releasing, table arrangements workshops and dried wreath workshops so do watch this space. Sorry for the silence it has been crazy at the moment. I am so lucky to have an amazing team working at beans and blooms. I have been knee deep in freshers for my day job and now isolating for testing positive they are doing everything. So if you see them on a delivery give them a special thanks for me.

This morning I got up early to make an arrangement for my mum to deliver. Did I expect it to end up back at my house. I can’t believe my husband placed and order and I got to have our lovely flowers in our house. I loved the colour combination so very happy the bouquet turned out for me. I want to wish my husband a Happy Anniversary and for being on this crazy ride of flower farming with us!

I am so proud of our little team at B&B what a week we had last week. It required a lot of early mornings and late nights but we wouldn’t change it. Two amazing wedding flowers went out to florists, regular buckets, arrangements all over the place. But most importantly working with the current weather makes it much more difficult so thank you team! We finally got the irrigation in and all we have had is rain, so progresses are happening in the background. More seed sowing and potting on today getting ready for the open day ok Saturday.

Come and join us as we open our doors as part of the Flower Farmer’s Big weekend. You have the opportunity of a tour of the cutting garden and ask any questions you may have and growing and working with British flowers.
We are lucky to have Philipa Day, fellow flower from the farm member and florist here to demonstrate what amazing arrangements can be made with British flowers. You can purchase flowers, plants and bouquets and we will have handmade refreshments available to enjoy on the day.
Please book a timeslot as we have limited numbers, timeslots run on the hour for an hour but its up to you to the duration of your attendance, all entry fees will be donated to Marie Curie.
Once Ticket has been purchased will send details of the day along with the address we are based in Rainham Essex, RM13 7XS.

Today’s bouquet has all the colours. Had a week off this week and I spent it watering and catching up on jobs, all the plants are in the grown and dried flowers stored away and the drying racks full again. But these flowers gave me joy today.

I’m really enjoying making bouquets at the moment everyday cutting something new makes it exciting, always say she loves not know what the flowers are each week and that’s how I feel everyday at the moment. I know know how she feels.

Every year we listen to the florist we work with and try and grow a little better, a little more unusual, special, scented and new flowers.We try and grow for the weddings and events we know of in advance and work with the style of the florist, colour palette they love and the vision they have.
But that doesn’t always work, this years weather has not played ball! Some weeks have been very close if we can deliver.
But what we want to say is we are extremely privileged to supply and work with incredible florists and creatives and we can’t wait to work harder and supply even better ingredients for you to work with and see what you create.
One of this years stars is corncockle. Just simple and classic and has been adored by all.

Evening all, as we have had a lot of new followers recently I thought I would introduce myself. This is rare as I do not like my photo taken. But my name is Danielle and I am one third of Beans and Blooms, my third becomes smaller every week, that is because I have a full time job working in education at an amazing college which I love soo much and couldn’t imagine not working with young people! Therefore the other two thirds are made up of my mum and dad who mainly do most of the work, all the deliveries and all the watering. We are based in Rainham, Essex and grow over two sites. We grow mainly to supply florists but also do local
Bouquets and arrangements. We love working, growing abs supply events and weddings. If you are a florist and want to be added to our availability list get in touch. I struggle with posts like this and putting yourself out there but I tell my students everyday to be confident and how incredible they are so I am following my own advice.

We are now at the end of British Flower Week, late to post as usual but I wanted to see who has bought British flowers or produce this week?
Do you know how your flowers are grown? Do you know how many miles they travel to get to you? Do you know how many chemicals are used in the process? Do you know how many insects we are losing? How long do your flowers last? Do they smell nice?
I don’t normal do a post like this but I wanted to highlight that our roses pictured may only last a couple of days once cut but boy do they smell incredible, look insane, travelled from garden to bouquet straight away, make any arrangements just sparkle and you may even find a little insect for added value but most importantly you are choosing a small British business that dancers whenever we get an order.
That when we’re up before the sunrise, drenched from the rain, hot from the heat or constantly covered in mud, it’s ALL WORTH IT.
We love growing flowers, vegetables and love what we do and hope you do too.
So not just for this week but forever please think about British produced and British Business we really do love supplying local.

Yesterday .day came to visit us and what a day we had! I am not good at getting photos so excuse my photo! I can’t believe again what I learnt and this is one of the arrangements made. These are OUR FLOWERS grown and picked in Essex! You made my year yesterday so thank you for coming!! Our confidence needed it!
