🐰𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗬 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗕𝗬?🥚 I hope that you are all having a lovely Easter and that you are all getting stuck into some yummy treats from the Easter bunny… BUT did you know that the Easter bunny doesn’t visit everywhere in the world? In fact while many of us associate Easter with bunnies, in Australia the rabbit is not a species they like to celebrate! Rabbits were introduced to this amazing continent many years ago and are now a widespread pest causing lots of issues for native Australian species. In Australia they celebrate quite a different wee critter at Easter. The bilby is a small, long eared marsupial but, like so many amazing species on our planet, it is endangered. This is mostly due to the introduction of non-native predators and invasive species such as cats and foxes and other factors such as habitat loss. I was lucky enough to meet some of these amazing wee critters on one of my trips to Australia and got the chance to learn about the vital conservation and breeding work being carried out down under! 𝗔 𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧! It’s my favourite time of day when my nocturnal friends all start to wake up! This evening I am catching up with admin and I have a sweet little assistant as Wee Dave the sugar glider has joined me for some quality time together. If there are any typos in my replies to your enquiries you will therefore know that it’s a special addition from Wee Dave as he has pitter pattered across the keyboard on his way to explore and get up to mischief. He can also be quite distracting with his noisy eating habits while enjoying a wee treat (just listen to the video). Dave lives with some sugar glider friends who he can often be found snuggled up with in their nest but he is also super sociable and loves to spend time together so it’s always great fun to hang out with this amazing wee critter.

We offer a range of curriculum-based topics for schools and groups including our 'Winter is Coming' theme. These interactive animal education sessions allow little explorers to learn about the different seasons, the amazing adaptations animals have to survive in extreme climates and also looks at hibernation and migration!
