The confetti shot 🎉

I love the confetti moment!

Over the years it’s been a trend that has peaked and dipped. Sometimes that’s because of the venue, sometimes it just isn’t what the couple want.

My go to confetti is dried flower petals, they’re biodegradable and available in a range of natural colours, meaning there is less risk of wet confetti staining.

Mood board Monday ✨

It’s back! Your Monday inspiration!

This week is: Breath of fresh air; very appropriate for the first Monday of 2022!

Last year eucalyptus was very popular, this mood board takes gypsophila or baby’s breath as it’s also known, with gypsophila being used for cloud like installations.

This mood board is based around neutral colours of sage, dove blue and off whites with touches of gold.

Blue thistle in bouquets of gypsophila adds dimensions of colour whilst keeping everything simple and fresh!

First impressions ✨

Your guests first insight to your wedding is the invite they recieve, it lets them know more than the time, date and location it also lets them know the colour scheme and theme!

It is always good to give as much information as possible for example local hotels and nearby accommodation.

Why we do it? ✨

Every supplier has their own reasons for submerging themselves in to the chaotic rollercoaster that is the wedding industry.

For some it’s because they loved planning their own wedding so much they didn’t want to put down the scrapbook, some have such an eye for detail and design they were born to be in this crazy beautiful industry, some even fell in to it and never wanted to leave.

For myself, when I was very little I wanted to be a “Hartist” - I hadn’t quite nailed the pronounciation of Artist just yet.

As I got a tad bigger I would draw countless wedding dresses, wrap a towel around myself and pretend it was a glamourous gown. I loved all things weddings, despite only being a guest at one.

I remember sitting in a local Italian restaurant with my parents when I was about 11 , I had my sketch pad and I sat and drew floor plans for a shop. It had flowers in one corner, hair & make up in another, dresses, shoes, decorations, everything you need for a wedding. I called it J.E.Ms Weddings (my initials), and I remember thinking I’m going to have a business where I can plan everything for brides and their wedding day!

That little 11 year old dream is now a reality, although I don’t have a shop filled to the brim, I do have a wonderful list of suppliers I get to work with to make all these special days.

Sometimes it’s tough being in the wedding industry, (especially the last year!) juggling my little family and the ongoing admin that is a crucial part of being a planner, however when I get to have weekends like I have just had; 4 weddings in 5 days and seeing everything come together, I can’t help but feel so proud of how far I’ve come.

So that’s why I do it: to make my little boys know whatever they dream of being when they are 11 eating their calzone, they really can be 💖

This dress was so sassy, it definitely has its own character. It certainly empowered Hannah, and made her feel even more beautiful than she already is ✨

When all eyes are on you, you want to feel the best you possibly can! It’s okay to ask for guidance when dress shopping however don’t allow it to sway your decision, only you know how you feel 💖

Happy Monday!

The weeks/days are rolling away so fast!

We have now got at least one wedding every week up until the middle of September (4 next week!)!

Weddings being in full swing, one of the things I’m looking forward to seeing is the cake 🍰(how gorgeous is this one from !) and of course the dancing 💃🏻

Wedding season has well and truly arrived and they are back! ✨

Not sure about you, but when “freedom day” came around it didn’t feel like any other day, however the regulations on wedding being removed has definitely been liberating!

I’m still doing Covid risk assessments and wearing a mask where neeeded, but it is so lovely not to have to enforce no dancing, no drink reception restrictions! 🥂

The last couple weeks my days have been filled with lots of driving, lots of phone calls, site visits and plenty of planning meeting with a suppliers and couples!

I am absolutely loving it! I have a jam packed August, so I’m going to use this rare weekend to enjoy being at home!

One of the things that couples tend to focus on when planning, is ensuring their guests have fun, but make sure YOU DO TOO!

If you have booked garden games make sure you give them a go too! If you’ve booked canapés don’t forget to enjoy them!

It’s so easy to get caught up in making it the perfect day for your guests, when really it’s a day to celebrate you both. 💖

A tip I was once told by a make up artist, was to ensure you are drinking lots of water and are well hydrated, as it will allow for better application for your make up.

Aimee is a super talented and created a beautiful look for Jo, which enhanced her beauty and created a look which really suited her 👰🏻

Make sure you schedule some time to be alone together, it could be between photographs and heading back to the reception or after the ceremony!

It’s always good to be able to soak in the day and celebrate being married just the two of you for a couple of private moments! So make sure you schedule in to your day ❤️
