WOW! Just blimmin' WOW!

After a very slow December as far as new bookings go (I get it...other stuff's taking the cash from the bank account), the first 10 days of 2023 have been absolutely MANIC with enquiries for kids' parties.

In fact, enquiries are at double the level I'd expect at this time of year!

So if YOU'RE planning a birthday party for your child, please don't leave it too late to get in touch. I really don't like letting the little party-goers down.

Actually, no because there's ALWAYS a slight draft in most venues, making it much harder than it looks.

Put simply. this is egg and spoon racing but just a little bit more skill is required.

That's all for 2022 folks.

It's been a very long and very busy year as we've returned to normal life after the past few years, and I'd like to personally thank each and every one of you that's hired me for a party, been to a party and taken part, or just recommended me to someone - I love you all 🥰

Special thanks as always goes out to the lovely Mrs Chaos (aka Liz....my long suffering wife who has to put up with a wig changing idiot of a husband 🤣 working some very strange and unsociable weekend hours instead of being with her 😍).

What's the ideal time to hold a kids party? That depends on a lot of things such as when your venue is available and the age group of the guests.

Weekend birthday parties always started at 3pm back in the day, but there’s now a wider scope for when to hold a party. Morning parties can work well, especially for younger children. The benefits to a morning party include:

*Younger children aren’t so tired, so will likely be better behaved
*You can get them out of the way and have the afternoon to relax
*It’s also worth going for an in-between mealtime party to escape having to provide a full meal at the party.

CORNERS is a game which can seem a little complicated at first, but they soon get the hang of it.

Coloured markers are placed around the hall and the children dance to a song. When the music stops, they have to race to a "corner". A coloured ball is then drawn from a bag and all those who are unlucky enough to be standing at the "corner" with the same colour are out.

What's the ideal length of a kids party?

Two hours is a great amount of time for a kids party, no matter what the kids’ ages. This gives everyone time to get to the party and time for some fun, games and serving of party food

It's Christmas party season (I've been out more times over the last week than I've been home).

Although I've been mainly doing grown up parties, Captain Chaos has still managed to appear at a birthday and a Christmas party this week :)

LIMBO DANCING is always a good warm-up as to what's to come. The children take it in turns to get under the limbo pole as it gradually gets closer and closer to the floor....how low can they go?

LET IT GLOW!

A popular party option is the addition of Ultra Violet lighting. Just ask the guests to arrive in white or fluorescent clothing and watch the colours "pop"!

As tempting as it might be, don't provide too many distractions around the venue such as balloons on the dance floor.

The children will be easily be distracted into playing with those rather than taking part in the main party games.

I'm told A LOT that I'm different to most of the children's party DJs that most parents have seen.

I really don't just blast loud music out for a couple of hours and hope they'll dance to it....I involve them in interactive games and fun as well!

TOP PARTY TIP from Captain Chaos!

Don't put too many distractions such as balloons on the dance floor at the start of the party no matter how tempting it might be!

The children will spend the first half of the party chasing the balloons, bursting them and not paying attention to what I'm trying to do, and trust me, I can MORE than entertain them without distractions...it's what I do!

This coming weekend sees me at the biggest kids party I do each and every year, and yes - I'm a little bit excited!
