The team had a great day last Thursday catering at the wedding of Carly & Jake. Guests tucked into delicious canapes and a two course sharing meal. As always I hardly took any photos but here are a few!!

This time last week the Chilli Pepper team had just finished serving canapes at the stunning Highcliffe Castle on very similar weather to today! Caroline and Tim booked us as part of their wedding anniversary celebrations, 20 years prior to the day they had got married at the same venue! They returned from across the pond to celebrate with friends and family. How fantastic!

This girl deserves a place on my grid as her wedding came prior to the world of Instagram! Emma is part of a local recommendation circle of over 30 couples. The top pic is us at her wedding (one that will forever go down in history!) and the bottom is at Tessa & Alex's wedding recently (another for the history books!). Emma was recommended to me by a bride, who was also recommended to me by a bride....who was also recommended to me by a bride and Emma has since recommended me to a number of other couples!

So this post is actually to say to all of you.....thank you! I'm geeky and I have officially drawn a family tree of the recommendation network!! It's amazing to see who connects to who and more to the point, it's a wonderful feeling that couples pass the word on about us to their friends and family. I'm eternally grateful that over the past 13 years you have all helped make my little dream into an amazing reality! Thank you all so much xx

This time last week the were recovering from an epic weekend! One of the events we catered for was a joint father and son birthday party at a private residence in the New Forest. 120 guests arrived to champagne and canapes accompanied by a brass band on the lawn. This was followed by a three course meal, including a delicious dessert and cheese station! Guests partied to a band and DJ into the small hours and we provided midnight snacks to keep the energy levels up!!! We then returned the next day and provided a Full English! Definitely needed as some guests hadn't even made it to bed!!! An amazing event with the most lovely of people, suppliers and guests!

Tessa & Alex definitely got the memo about having fun on their wedding day!!! There were so many personalised touches, interactive opportunities for guests and spontaneous memories made from champagne sprays to shot walls, sunglasses to scratch cards. Literally I didn't see these gorgeous two stop smiling and their laughter was totally infectious! 😊

This time last week, and in far better weather!!! How can it be that a week has gone by since Tessa & Alex got married!! This absolutely gorgeous couple embraced every part of their day, I didn't ever see them stop smiling or laughing and it was such a pleasure to be part of!

Tessa & Alex booked us for our day-before and day-of coordination service on recommendation from a previous Bride and we are so glad they did! The wedding reception was held in the family garden with the church a few minutes walk away. Guests arrived back at the marquee to canapes, drinks and music followed by a two course dinner and then ended up partying the night away to a fantastic band. Tessa & Alex worked so hard to plan every part of the day from the colour scheme to the little fun touches so their guests enjoyed it as much as they did, and they could ensure their friends and family could relax.

Day off and a fantastic day out at Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival! We shopped til we dropped, saw so many beautiful displays and show gardens and had some delicious food! Early bed now! First return back since covid and has inspired us to plan a return trip to Chelsea Flower Show next year 💐

What a crazy week!!! caterered for 150 guests and suppliers at the Realisation Festival at the stunning St Giles House with set up Wednesday, opening family service meal on Thursday night, then buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next three days. We focused on locally sourced ingredients, eco friendly supplies and a heavy emphasis on vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menu items. The standing ovation on the last "zero waste" lunch from the Earl of Shaftesbury and the attendees said it all!!! What a moment to be proud of for the whole team!

Can we talk about the room reveal!? This part of the day is always my favourite and one that often gets overlooked. The wedding breakfast room is often where the most thought goes into the decor and if the couple don't get sight of it before the guests enter the room they will never see it in their full glory.

Jess had put so much thought into the look of this room, it was so important for me that she saw it looking as incredible as it did! There were tears! Good tears of course! I think you'll all agree that it looked absolutely stunning!

Jess & Rob got married on Saturday and there are too many beautiful photos from their big day to choose from!! Jess & Rob booked us around two months before their wedding to provide some extra support on their big day and we provided our all day management service.

The day started off with a stunning ceremony in a disused church on the hotel grounds surrounded by flowers by the very talented and delightfully lovely !

Guests moved over to the main hotel for drinks and canapes in the sunshine followed by a three course meal in the old Library. The evening celebrations were kicked off with after dinner cocktails and then everyone partied the night away to the very talented Alley Catz Evening Band!

Great to work with the wonderful and again! They definitely make a great team and I cannot wait to see their photos and footage!

Saturday saw my first return to .estate in far too many years to count!!! The lovely Mollie and Chris had booked our all day package to provide that extra level of support on their big day and I'm so glad they did! It also was the 10 year anniversary of the first (and sadly only!) time that had worked together so we had a lot to catch up on!! What a pleasure it was to work with both the Wickham team and Tom again as well as meet new suppliers on the day.

Sadly the weather didn't hold off, with a torrential shower just as guests left the ceremony but that didn't stop them enjoying drinks and ice cream accompanied by the fabulous sounds of

provided the beautiful florals with beautiful stationary provided by Wickham themselves.

After cutting the cake from Sarah Louise Cakes guests partied the night away to the sounds of and I don't think the photo booth from was ever empty!

What a stunning day and one I was incredibly glad to be part of!

Luke & Jade got married! Last Fridays wedding was a bit of a BTSE and a one! This lovely couple had Chilli Pepper booked to cater their day and then asked BTSE to support with the final supplier sourcing / confirmations and admin.

Thank goodness the weather held off and we managed to have an outdoor ceremony accompanied by a harpist which was just beautiful. Canapes and drinks reception followed and then guests were treated to a three course meal. A sax player accompanied the first dance which really got the party started!! Luke & Jade, what a pleasure to be part of such a special day!

🎉Happy Birthday BTSE!! 🎉

Thirteen years ago this week the idea of Behind The Scenes Events was born. At the time there was a big gap in the market locally for specific on the day wedding coordination so I used my 10+ years catering and hospitality management experience to pivot into something slightly different and wasn't sure if it would ever take off!

Well it did! And I'm glad it did! 13 years later I have built a wonderful business, left the world of 9-5, survived the covid years and have more recently pivoted again by supporting other businesses in the hospitality industry.

So, 13 years of wedding coordination, 24 years of catering and hospitality....that makes me feel old! I may have a few more wrinkles, permanently aching feet and one stubborn grey hair but what incredible experiences I have had along the way with amazing locations, incredible clients / couples and fantastic suppliers.

Every day I say I'm lucky to work in an industry I love! Thank you all for being there for the ride, trusting me and supporting me every step of the way xx

On Saturday the had the absolute pleasure of catering at Sam & Becky's wedding! I think the smiles are still on our faces now, what a wonderful day!

We provided drinks service all day including shots before speeches!!! Guests tucked into canapes followed by a delicious 3 course meal and evening pizza.

After dinner there was an epic surprise for guests. The last photo is a little give away! All will be revealed tomorrow!!!

One of the best things about working in hospitality is the incredible locations we get to work at, seeing things that we otherwise wouldn't see on. Many of these locations are historic buildings and we are privileged to be part of yet more history that's added to the record books!

Last Saturday the team got to return to the most stunning disused railway station for the first time in years for a very special wedding. The site hasn't been used for weddings since before covid so it was an absolute privilege to return, the Chilli Pepper team having done one of the last weddings on site, and myself one years prior.

Guests tucked into canapes on the platform, including delicious seared scallops, ponzu tuna, mini tacos and beef bearnaise. This was followed by a two course wedding breakfast with a choice of beef, salmon or risotto and then our famous lemon tart or pavlova! After cake cutting (a delicious Guinness cake made by the groom!), speeches and entertainment by the children of the family the guests and the wedding party headed off to party the night away at a historic coaching inn!

Another incredible day with an incredible team!

This time last week the team were getting ready for the fabulous wedding of Emma & Conor! This gorgeous couple opted for canapes, a family service hog roast and rotisserie chicken and puddings! We provided drinks service for the reception and meal and I personally think that we need more cocktail cherries and umbrellas in our lives!!! What a fantastic day full of fun and laughter!

Still dreaming of this stunner of an arch that was made and decorated by Jo, Graham and their friends and family. I love set up days as much as the wedding day itself, and this arch was part of the fun we all had on the Friday before the wedding. I think everyone there on the day played a part in the preparation and placement of the flowers. And we got a day before and a day off photo of J&G in front of it! Totally dreamy!

Jo & Graeme, what can I say!?! Last Saturday was just beautiful in every way. From the stunning ceremony in Jo's parents garden (I had a few tears!) to the heartfelt speeches, to sparklers on the lawn and the Groom accompanying the band on the drums, this day will officially live rent free in my heart!

Jo, Graeme and their friends and family poured every effort into preparing for the big day. The Friday set up day was equally as wonderful with everyone chipping in to get the garden and marquee wedding ready (more about that later!)

As well as our favourite patissier providing the cake we met some wonderfully talented new suppliers including , , , , and What a day!!! What a couple!

Last week saw the team cater for the wonderful Kay & Kelven at God's House Tower in Southampton. A fascinating building full of quirky spaces and history, the perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony, drinks reception and meal. Check out those floral arrangements!!

We served a selection of canapes along with a delicious three course meal before the couple and their guests went off to a local music venue to party the night away!! As always, I managed to get pictures of the starters but nothing else!!

This time last week were prepping for the party of the year! 160 guests, drinks reception and a bar service, canapes, family service hog roast with all the trimmings, a dessert station and midnight snacks! It featured an 80s theme, a visiting Delorean, guests with the most epic fancy dress, an incredible band belting out a mix of tunes, a C5 track and the most impressive fireworks display we had ever seen! What an event!
