🐶Doggie duvet update🐶
Hi everyone, Brooke here!
I’m in full swing on the duvets! Hopefully they only have dachshund-shaped dogs!😂
To get into the flow I started my smaller blankets first. Now I’m moving on to bigger!
This process has been so refreshing, learning a new skill, doing something beneficial and creating something I know doggies can take to their homes!
I invite anyone to try this as it’s such an easy concept but so rewarding and lovely!
Thank you all for sticking with me on my optimistic journey😂
I’m having the best time, feel free to join me!

In the whimsical world of crocheting garments, we’ve all encountered that frustrating moment: diligently following a pattern, only to discover that our masterpiece resembles something between a wearable wonder and a comedy of errors.
Take my recent endeavour with a top-down cardigan, for instance. Armed with hook and yarn, I dove headfirst into what I hoped would be a seamless creation. However, as I neared the finish line, I realised my cardigan was missing a crucial piece – a belly-sized gap reminiscent of a fashion-forward triangle! Who knew crochet could give birth to such geometric marvels?
With a sigh and a few choice words, I embarked on the noble mission of frogging (that’s crochet for unravelling) nearly 40 rows of my handiwork. It was a humbling reminder that, much like life, crochet doesn’t always adhere to our meticulously laid out plans. But hey, isn’t the journey more entertaining when it’s filled with unexpected detours? (ask me again when I’ve finished the cardigan!)
This little mishap got me thinking: why stick to rigid patterns when we can embrace the glorious chaos of “try-as-you-go”? After all, our bodies are as unique as snowflakes (or crochet stitches), and one-size-fits-all just doesn’t cut it anymore – especially when it comes to accommodating my peri-menopausal belly and perpetually petite boobs!
So, let’s raise our hooks to the beauty of imperfection and the joy of customisation! Whether it’s adding extra stitches for a curvier waistline or subtracting for a sleeker silhouette, let’s make our crochet projects as unique as we are.
And can we talk about the importance of regular fittings? Checking the fit against our head, shoulders, boobs, belly, and bum isn’t just about ensuring our garments look good and fit right; it’s about celebrating every curve, bump, and jiggle along the way. Because let’s face it, life’s too short for ill-fitting cardigans and unrealistic beauty standards.
