A wreath workshop to teach, a trip to Bristol and a wedding to flower this week with , plus a school nativity, Father Christmas visit, painting the living room, final edits of a wedding script to complete and then I’ll be working through all outstanding admin and enquiries ready to sign off and take Bucks Fizz via an IV next week 👌🏼✨

It’s the most wonderful time of the year right?! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Helloooo!

Sorry for the radio silence: the lurgy got us good and we’ve just been on a constant hamster wheel of bugs and someone feeling like s**t at all times.
BUT I’m still here, just lurking a bit more than usual.

Got a busy few weeks coming up starting with heading off to Leeds on Saturday to exhibit at the wonderful this Sunday which is very exciting and I get to go on a little road trip to meet some of the coolest wedding suppliers around ✨

Then things start to get festive around here and I’ll be donning my florist hat for a few weeks and getting back to teaching Christmas Wreath workshops and flowering a beautiful winter wedding over 🌿🎄

And then it’ll be attending nativity plays and carol services whilst trying to complete my ridiculous to-do list and completing the final tweaks ahead of my first wedding of 2025 before I can crack open the Bucks Fizz and embrace the chaos of Christmas with my little gremlins 🤍✨ (Also, absolutely buzzing for the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, not gonna lie 🙌🏼)

I feel like a LOT of caffeine will be consumed in the next few weeks whilst I wear my Christmas jumpers on repeat 🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyone else have this issue?!

I’m proud of a lot of things I’ve achieved so far in this little life but jumping through a trampoline will never be one of them 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Although, my favourite part on the Couple Questionnaires I send out will always be the stories or funny memories my couples share about one and another: they provide such an insight into how each couple works and are always full of such character that they really help me to feel like I know them as friends already 🤍 And they also make me feel less alone with the stories my husband chooses to share about me on the regular 👌🏼

What did I get for my birthday? Poorly, I got poorly 🤦🏼‍♀️

Since turning 24 (+10) on Tuesday, I’ve basically been in bed feeling very bloody s**t if I’m honest! But these cards did cheer me up 👌🏼❤️

I’ll be back to titting around soon but for now, I need some more rest as I feel mentally and physically burned out.
I’m doing my best to keep on top of admin etc but there might be a bit of a delay until I’m feeling more with it - thank you, as always, for being patient with me ✨

When you book me as your celebrant, I’m there to help you every step of the way and there is no right or wrong way to express how you feel.

If you’re struggling to put down on paper exactly what you want to say then start by noting down keywords and qualities that you love about your partner. Are they funny? Determined? Loyal? Amazing at cleaning or keeping you fed?
It’s amazing how quickly your vows will evolve if you break them down into bitesized chunks that we can then join together to create the most special and meaningful mini speech.

And please never worry about getting emotional or feeling embarrassed: I am there to support and guide you not only on your wedding day but in the run up to it too and I’ll always make time to help you and be there for you whenever you need me.

How many of us sometimes just accept traditions without knowing the reasons behind them?

I know I’ve certainly done this but if we take some time to really think about them and look into the origins of them, it can make us think twice about whether they’re right for us and our special day.

Take the concept of a Best Man for example.
Now more often than not they are the best friend or sibling of one of half of the couple and are now more commonly famous for keeping said half of the couple calm on the wedding morning and for giving a hilarious speech during the wedding breakfast but do you know where this term originates from?

The idea of a ‘Best Man’ actually has a much darker origin than its modern connotations. The Best Man dates back to 16th century Germanic Goths when he would kidnap, or at least help the groom to kidnap, the bride. He would then stand next to the couple at the wedding, ready with his sword, to defend the couple against any family members or individuals who might attempt to stop the wedding or steal the bride back.

Pretty different to our version eh?!
