Yesterday I received a HUGE order of flowers for a wedding on Saturday. Most people don’t realise how long the preparation process takes. I literally didn’t stop from 10:30 in the morning until 7pm at night. To condition flowers you need to bleach all your buckets and flower containers so that there are no bugs and bacteria. You then need to treat the water (especially for a wedding) as you want the flowers to be well fed and hydrated so they will be perfect for the event. When the flowers arrive they always look a little worse for wear as they been packaged up without water - sometimes for days if you’re buying them from abroad. (I have got a couple of orders coming from local growers Hannahs Flowers Perfect Patch Flowers but those flowers won’t need as much conditioning as they’re literally being cut, put in water and delivered down the road!) Once you unwrap the flowers they will need their stems tidying, leaves and thorns removing and a couple of inches removing from the bottom of the stems. It’s a long process but if you properly condition your flowers they will last so much longer! #iwishicouldgothisfast #conditioningflowers #conditioningflowers101 #lincolnshireflowerfairy
I’ve been a bit quiet since Christmas. I’ve certainly needed a bit of rest and relaxation as I was super busy in the run up to Christmas. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all my customers, family, friends and followers for your amazing support since I started my business in September. Without you all I couldn’t make this happen. So thank you so much!! I have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline for 2022 so watch this space. Sending love and light to you all ### #smallbusiness #lincolnshireflowerfairy #lincolnshireflorist #lincolnshireflowerarranger #supportsmallbusinesses #excitingtimesahead #thankyou #MadeWithRipl
