Tour update!

Our ninth album, In Murmuration, will be released 25 October 2024. Here’s how we roll at the end of the year. Tickets for the added shows will be available from tomorrow (9 AM finnish time) onwards.

As you can see, due to high demand, another TAVASTIA-klubi date was added as well. And before you ask, yes, we are going to play a slightly different set both nights 🫠

IN MURMURATION

New VHB album out 25 October 2024

Hello everyone!

We have exciting news for you today. Most of you are aware that we've been working intensely in the studio for the first half of the year and we are now ready to share with you that we have “crossed the finish line”. That makes us self-proclaimed Olympic Gold Medalists of 2024, since we already put out a double live album this year. That’s quite an achievement, don’t you think?!

Our ninth studio album, In Murmuration, will be released in October, and it features 10 brand-new, shiny & sparkling VHB tunes:

1. The Relapse
2. A Good Life
3. Starlings
4. Ascension Day
5. Beneath the Silver Stars
6. Tightrope Walker
7. The Change
8. Separation
9. Snowstorm
10. Wait for Me

The album was written, performed and produced by us brothers and features our bandmates Sami Kuoppamäki on the drums and Markus Pajakkala on saxophones, woodwinds and vocals.

The beautiful art on the album cover was made by Rami Mursula. He used pictures taken by us brothers as elements and drew “a few” more starling silhouettes for the effect. Well done, Rami!

Pre-sale of the album will start on Thursday, 1 August. Head over to our webshop to see what’s available then.

Once the album is out, we are going to play a few shows here in Finland and over in the UK:

Descending from a long line of circus performers, it’s no surprise that Julia went into the entertainment industry. Her grandmother and great grandmother were magicians and her great uncle George an elephant trainer with Bostock & Wombwell’s circus until it folded in the 1930’s.

“When I was about 9 or 10 I used to create shows and put them on in front of my whole school. Usually these would have some kind of circus theme and I’d dress up my friends as lions and acrobats and get them to perform. I’d do the make-up, costumes, stage sets, choreography and script the whole thing. I don’t know how I managed to get our head teacher to agree to let everyone miss class to attend these productions but I guess that was my first foray into selling a creative idea!”

Julia started her media career at ITV where she managed music bookings and coordination of 3 Royal Variety Performances and worked across light entertainment programmes such as Barrymore and Live From The Palladium.

This led to 10 years working in radio where she was responsible for cross platform content campaigns and events at national radio stations including Magic, Absolute, Kiss, Kerrang!, Planet Rock, Capital and Radio X.
