As the date for Fantasy Forest Festival and our Costume Competition draws closer, it seems a fitting time to introduce to you all our wonderful panel of talented Judges:
One of our returning judges: Jennifer is a talented seamstress specialising in modern corsetry which takes inspiration from historical styles. Her business, Wyte Phantom, opened in 2010, and since she has made costumes for opera singers, performers and artists across the world. A bit of a magpie with a fondness for shiny things and a strong sense of fairytale gothic, her creations are often opulent and unique.

Another returning judge: Cecile Dubuis, also known as Morbid Frog, is a Goth Librarian who lives in London. A creative chameleon; Cecile can be found at Alternative/Goth festivals across Europe and at events ranging from Steampunk to ColourWalk, from Historical Reenactments to Fairy and Fantasy Festivals. Restless and gregarious, her image and creations can be found in a variety of books and magazines, where she is known for her impressive wigs, headdresses and disembodied doll-parts.

One of our new judges: Abi, better known as Opal Ink Cosplay, is an experienced cosplayer who loves all things fantasy and crafty! She has previously worked on the official promotional campaign for God of War Ragnarök as the official Atreus cosplayer for PlayStation as well as having been an official judge for Ubisoift's cosplay competition, and she has plenty of experience both judging and competing in cosplay competitions.

Our second new judge for this year: Beth, aka Amazonian Cosplay, has been crafting costumes in the United Kingdom for over 10 years. With a 'devil is in the details' approach, her skillset proudly extends to leatherwork, blacksmithing, prosthetic makeup effects, and her one true love, embroidery. When not stitching, she can be found at cosplay competitions (on both sides of the judging table!) across the world representing the United Kingdom, or collaborating with brands such as Netflix and Ubisoft. A jack of all trades, whether its forging steel armour or spending hours hand sewing swarovski crystals, Amazonian celebrates her ability to take on a challenge, and enjoys sharing the process with others across social media, and live streaming on Twitch. She hopes to inspire crafting hopefuls to take more risks, enjoy slow crafting, and love the finer details. In 2022, Amazonian was privileged to win the title of UK and Global Crown Champion of Cosplay.
