The Scottish Smallholders Festival on 14th October 2023 at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh is seeking hot food traders for the event. Providers focussing on local foods in the menu are preferred, all details on the link below to enquire.

Local Street Food Trucks wanted! 🍕🌭🐟

The Scottish Smallholder festival has a reputation for great food, and for our first visit to the Royal Highland Centre we want to keep that going.

We are looking for some new street food trucks that use lots of local produce and who can serve 300 - 400 covers at lunchtime. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who could bring a pizza oven and also someone offering local sustainable fish and chips.

The Portobello Market returns on Saturday 4th February in Brighton Park, from 9:30am to 1:30pm for the first market of the year at the usual site.

There's a great range of goods on site including a wide variety of fine foods and crafts as ever plus freshly prepared hot drinks to enjoy whilst shopping!

The best for family friendly safe shopping on a large site in the Park, stalls are set for distancing and space for shoppers to safely visit the producers.

Meat and game, fresh breads, vegetarian, vegan and wholefoods, confectionery, selected high quality crafts with jewellery, kids clothing, unique artwork, textiles and more. Kitchen staples and condiments, deli goods including pates and sauces, preserves, prepared meals and stew packs. Dog treats, fine sweet baking goods, roast coffees, chilli sauces, fresh savoury pies, chocolate ranges and delicatessen goods - all from some of the best producers in Scotland!

Remember to ask producers about their home delivery option too as most producers are happy to take orders for this service from the stall, whether for craft or foods items.

There's plenty of free parking nearby and on the bus routes too, just a stroll off the High Street. PEDAL - Portobello Transition Town volunteers will be on site with information about their work plus their local apple juice and preserves for sale.

To everyone that follows MarketCraft, we would like to announce that from 1st July 2022, we will no longer be operating in the events business as before. All hires, site management and future events will be run by our good friends at Carluke Markets, with a link to contact them noted below.

There will be no changes to the current events in hand other than a new contact going forward, and we will of course be helping behind the scenes though will not be present on site for the future.

We hope to announce some further news for MarketCraft once information is available about some new plans for the business and would like to thank everyone that has supported MarkerCraft in the past and wish every success to all the businesses that have joined the events as well as to all the shoppers and visitors too.
