We have had an AMAZING first week back!!

Don’t forget Scalby Songbirds are performing at Scalby Folk Festival - Sunday 7th September @ The Nags Head Pub starting at 1pm

We had our final rehearsal last night and one of choir members has made this AMAZING banner for the choir!!!!

Lovely to see a memory from 2017 when I first set up RK Music Workshops!

Eight years ago I wasn’t sure what the future would hold, just that I knew music is something I always wanted to do and I was determined to make it work!!

Filey Songbirds started back in September 2017 with Scalby Songbirds closely following in January 2018.

We have also been at Jitterbugs Childcare every week since September 2017!

Now, in 2025, we have four choirs (Filey Songbirds, Westway Warblers, Scarborough Wellbeing Choir & Scalby Songbirds), we are still at Jitterbugs Childcare every week, we have the pleasure of lots of different private vocal lessons for a variety of reasons and monthly workshops with Parkinson’s Scarborough and Scarborough DAG!!

All whilst I work part time as a music teacher in a secondary school!

I wouldn’t change anything for the world 🌍

Thank you everyone for supporting this journey and in two years hopefully we can organise something with past and present members for our ten year anniversary!!

Filey songbirds are BACK!!

We will be starting on Monday 1st September 2025

An SAB pop choir meeting weekly, no auditions and everyone is welcome!

⭐️ Mondays
⭐️ 6:30-8:30pm
⭐️ Filey Methodist Church
⭐️ £5 per session (no membership fee and pay as you go).

What an amazing and fun goodbye with the Staxton Singers!

We had our final summer concert this afternoon which had a venue change two songs in due to the rain, singing in the dark for two songs whilst we look for light switches and a key on the keyboard broke on the fourth song!!

In true Staxton Singers style, we worked it out and delivered a full programme of songs with scones and fizz 🥂

I feel I’ve truly gone out with a bang with our most memorable and best sounding concert of the summer and to top it off an amazing buffet at The Grapes, Ebberston with Karaoke 🎤 😂
