A little love for our little garden that has provided us with so much for our events-posies, edible garnishes, veggie feasts, & so many beautiful varieties that you just can’t buy. My favourite way to start the day of any event is to be out in the garden early picking when the plants are super fresh & then using them in our dishes & decorations. Even now that the growing season has slowed down there is always something lovely to pick. Pick a posy this weekend!

30 plants in 1 week? Done! In the last week we served:
❤️a two course vegetarian table feast featuring 44 plants
🧡a three course dinner with 31 plants along with a small amount of good quality meat & seafood.
💛We love to use a diverse & large range of whole foods including fruit, veg, grains, pulses, fresh herbs & spices in our dishes for extra colour, flavour & nutrition (yes, lots of prep & chopping to do!)
💚yummy & good for your tummy
💙0% waste when scraps go in the compost & leftovers get fed to the resident chickens & pigs in their beautiful woodland home

Carbonara with wild garlic & fresh organic egg yolk, crispy pancetta. My chosen last supper. Thanks to the universe for supplying a healthy patch of wild garlic right on our kitchen doorstep. 🙏🏼

We’ve enjoyed doing many dinner parties in private houses & holiday homes recently. We have set menus but rarely do the same one as we flex to what is in season & what our clients’ preferences are. Often if there are children & lots of dietaries a more flexitarian approach is the best! And the kitchen is left clean & tidy afterwards of course 💛

Celebrating our new kitchen with some Paloma Cocktails (rather a lot of tequila received for Christmas thanks everyone!)
The sun comes out when you mix this- just tequila, fresh lime, pinch of salt & grapefruit soda or juice with soda water & a dash of agave syrup. No blue Monday here. Happy January!

Coming up for air…such a busy year forgive us for being anti-social. Non-stop weddings, dinners, shoots & crew catering, then a major move from our seaside base to a new one in the magical woods of Midhurst. Apart from some Christmas parties we are taking a breather to forage, enjoy the fire and dream up new menus for next year’s parties!

There are SO many others too! Hospitality is hard work, now more than ever, but we have made lifelong friends, lovers, family, babies! It is so sad to see & experience the decline of hospitality thanks to politics, pandemics & a few power-hungry people. We have watched things like ‘The Menu’ & ‘The Bear’ & nodded in recognition.
But we all stay because we love the creativity, the characters & sharing some really lovely plates of food.
Here, a Strawberry Tres Leches cake made by one of those babies, our own DV, who inherited that food-sharing gene ❤️❤️❤️❤️

So delighted that West Horsley Place has added us to their preferred suppliers list! This Grade I listed medieval manor has many beautiful rooms to celebrate & create your own story - from The Stone Hall where King Henry VIII banqueted & The Walled Garden to the cozy & beautifully decorated Library, Drawing Room, Morning Room, & even Lady Crewe’s Bedroom. Big ‘Ghosts’ fans like us will know it is THE Button House & love it all the more! It also has a spacious Grade II listed barn & extensive grounds.
We look forward to providing delicious, colourful & bespoke menus & service for parties, wedding receptions, corporate events & location catering for film crews at this unique venue.

An outdoor supper in January? Yes please, we love campfire cooking any day. Lots of lovely hearty food for our adventurous clients, friendly hounds to help in case any food falls on the ground, pure clear frosty air & inky blackness to appreciate the stars all the more. Joy. Headlamps + thermals + waterproofs = ready for anything!
