Well here we are at the end of another year; at times it’s gone slow, then too quickly, as per usual!

Worked hard, very hard actually. It’s in my DNA to do so. Next year is no different and presents itself some major challenges for me. We will see!

I’m approaching 15 years service at Edify that’s the longest I’ve ever held an employed post - quite proud of that and what I’ve done at the firm so far.

Can’t remember how many years I’ve been properly DJing now but it’s a lot and I’m grateful for the privilege of performing to thousands of people and the hundreds of couples celebrate marriage.

Played hard too, but not as hard as I would have liked. Maybe that will change in 2024 with some good plans forming already. A bit more fun and more travelling too!

Not going to post details & photos of accomplishments and issues over the year they’re for my own memories. Some stuff is already in here in Facebook to scroll back and look upon anyway in years to come.

No real resolutions either - they never work! Aspirations yeah I’ve got some including I’d like to get back to doing some fishing - always helps me find my inner calm when “Life” just gets a bit “heavy” ya know?!

Anyway whether you’re misbehaving, kitchen raving, out and about or in on the couch. Enjoy New Year’s Eve in whatever capacity you choose to.

Thanks to all my family, friends, bosses, colleagues and customers over this past year - sincerely appreciated everything you all do, in your own special ways!

Every so often an absolute belter of a tune comes along that I just can’t stop playing. This time round it’s the mighty Switch Disco - Vacancy.

Absolutely love it. Everything about it is just spot on - atmospheric and uplifting melody, a powerful vocal and driving bass line it is going to energize dance floors that’s for sure. It’s great to see commercial music getting back to peak anthem dance anthem calibre.

Reminds me of the late 90s trance era. Sitting here at 330am with the tunes up full whack in my headphones reminiscing of the many great memories from back 20 odd years ago. In fact that played a key part in inspiring me to create Decksteria. Yeah I know I play multi format and have built my success through doing that giving the paying client their desired soundtrack to suit their event, within reason, but my heart lies in dance music and it always will.

2022 Wedding season is about to go out with a bang! Always enjoy this time of year when what I call “silly season” eases up a bit and look forward to enjoying some proper leisure time and then of course everything changes and Christmas soon arrives!!!

I look back on all my events of 2022 so far and think wow what a year that’s been especially after covid and ponder whether to have a more life work balance, but work always seems to win the debate ha ha ha!

With all of that, attention turns to future seasons and the diary is open - I’m now focussed on filling 2024 & 2025. Obviously there are still plenty of slots to fill in 2023 too…but be quick!!

Great to get back to normal, as normal can be! Here a “from this, to this” post. A lovely crowd for a rescheduled Christmas party (minus the Xmas tunes as it is February LOL). Really looking forward to 2022 DJ season. Rocking the new Macbook M1 with a serato Dj Pro and a new UDG audio cable. Blisteringly good all right - responsive, tight and superior sound quality from my Pioneer DDJ-SX better than it was before! We continue 🕺

Feeling really optimistic about the covid restrictions roadmap - it remains on track with non essential retail and outdoor hospitality now all open. Hoping from 21st June that weddings can all go ahead. The diary is very very busy for remainder of 2021 and 2022 particularly as we play “catch-up” with all those couples who’ve been waiting to tie the knot since last year. Cannot wait to get back on the decks and do what I do best. 🎧 🎶
