A TALE OF TWO TREES!
All of our BUILDER CLUB sessions - whether within schools or elsewhere - always focus primarily on encouraging children to be creative and use their imaginations.

These two trees provide evidence of one of the side benefits of this ideal!

The one on the left was built by a Y6 pupil at an AFTER SCHOOL CLUB and he spent time sourcing the bricks and - even with obvious fragility - created something special.
The one on the right was built by a Y1 pupil at the same session who was sitting close by to the Y6 pupil and was created with some support from the older child!

Two different trees but both built with care and commitment!

I'm sure our will agree that encouraging children to be creative is something that sets us apart from many other activities.

BUILDER CLUB
We're always proud about how hard the young people work to express their imaginations using Classic LEGO bricks!

Such LEGO elements don't offer the flexibility that many of the special parts found in most new sets so creativity is really tested.

Here's a model from today's session and - whilst simple - really highlights what can be achieved!

CAN WE PAY ON THE DOOR?
The CALDER VALLEY BRICK SHOW team recommend pre-purchasing your entry as it's always cheaper than paying on the door!

Subject to capacity we will accept cash/card payments for entry but this is always dependent on the numbers inside at the time.

Also, pre-payment allows faster entry on the door as we can scan your ticket QR code (printed or on a phone) to keep things flowing.

SOMETHING FOR THE OLDER CHILDREN!
Our BUILDER CLUBS have been really popular for children aged 6+ but we also recognise that older children might be looking for something aimed at their age group ... and so we're launching the BUILDER+ CLUB!

These sessions are for children aged 12+ and during the 60 minutes those participating will have the chance to help decide the structure of the session and what building activities are undertaken.

Obviously some children who are 12+ will still prefer to attend the usual BUILDER CLUB and that's 100% acceptable!

The BUILDER+ CLUB sessions will have smaller numbers so we recommend visiting www.brickworkshops.co.uk and register quickly.

DO YOU HAVE A MASTER-BUILDER IN THE MAKING IN YOUR HOUSE?!
At the CALDER VALLEY BRICK SHOW we like to offer children (aged 5 to 17) the chance to display a LEGO brick model which they have created from scratch at home!

This is a perfect opportunity to encourage somebody to plan, and create, a model using their own imagination ... and it's not a competition so everybody can take part!

All children who register in advance and display will receive a certificate and special LEGO brick which could, potentially, be used to show their youth group leader or teacher afterwards!

All Junior Exhibitors need to also have a ticket to enter the show so pop along to www.brickworkshops.co.uk and register now ... and then they can can building!!

RELEASE THEIR IMAGINATIONS THIS SPRING!!
Our popular school break BUILDER CLUB sessions are back and this February we're really going to give the children (aged 6+) a chance to be creative!

The LEGO theme, Dreamzzz, provides many "mashup" builds and so the participants of our sessions can - if they wish - choose to randomly select ideas for their builds ... and they go wild with the Classic LEGO bricks!

Once again these sessions also include a chance for children to build, and take-home, a little LEGO brick person.

Spaces are limited and the sessions take place inside the BRICK SHACK toy shop (Brighouse, HD6 1LQ).
