Happy Valentine's you lovely lot 💝💐🌹

I would just like to apologise to everyone who has tried to place orders with me for today, especially those who wanted "sexy flowers" 😉.

I had been blocking out my calendar due to my extended break, but I was still receiving messages and emails for all your lovely flower orders. Unfortunately I'm still have limited mobility in my hands, so not in a position to be able to accept any orders at present.

Because of this, I've made the decision to take down my website and temporarily close my Google page for Wreaths & Ribbons, until I'm in a position to offer you the service you deserve, without it impacting my health.

As stated in my previous posts, this is only a temporary measure and fingers crossed I'm hoping to be back to playing with flowers by Mother's Day, in one form or another! But if you are in urgent need, I know some pretty awesome independent florists, who I can pass on your details, so just drop me a message.

Happy New Year - Sorry I'm late 🤦🏻‍♀️

So I thought I would just jump on here to give you all an update regarding the extended closure that is happening at present.

This week I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. This is an autoimmune disease that primarily affects people's joints. Early last year I started having issues with my hips & then my feet. But I naturally put it down to ageing and past injuries playing up.

Towards the end of last year things started to get a little more serious. The festive season is always a hard slog for a florist. (It's not all playing with flowers). I was getting swelling in my hands. I thought it was wreath making, hands in frozen moss for hours and things would settle once the wreaths were finished.

Unfortunately it didn't, the swelling in my thumbs and forefingers got so bad by mid December, my daughter was having to help me dress and cut up my food! I knew this wasn't right so eventually took myself off to see my GP just before Christmas.

The NHS was amazing. I was booked in for x-rays and bloods between Christmas and the new year and a priority appointment with the rheumatology clinic this week.

I am now on the long road of finding the right medication combination to try and keep things under control. This is not going to be a quick fix, and could take weeks if not a few months 😔.

So, this isn't the end of W&R. We are just on a hiatus until I have improved mobility in my hands and I don't want to cry when I'm making your bouquet!

Until then, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the continued love and support you all have given me. I really do have the very best customers!

Thank you all for your continued support throughout the last 12 months, I really wouldn't be here without you!

A quick reminder that I am taking an extended break in the new year for personal reasons, unfortunately I don't have a time frame at present... But I will be back very soon. I had the complete pleasure in creating this wonderful ITFC vintage style scarf floral tribute this week.
It's always a complete privilege to be asked to create any funeral tributes, but this was a little bit special, as a final goodbye to someone who will be terribly missed by his loving family, as well as the wider community.

🍁 Annual Leave......

I am having a bit of down time for the remainder of this week. As some of you will know, I was diagnosed with long COVID towards the end of the summer, and I won't lie, it has been a bit of a struggle of late! (Especially the 4am starts 😴)

So as we seem to be hurtling towards the festive season I need to make sure at my sparkling best, as the wreath workshops are fast approaching! 🎄

My calendar will be open from Monday 11th for deliveries, & I will be able to deal with any orders and enquiries that come through this week.
