One Year on…

Wishing Kathryn and Ross a VERY Happy 1 year Anniversary.

What a wedding this was, set in the grounds of their stunning Georgian home in the Devon countryside, and designed to capture the most important details of their story. 🧡 H A P P Y A N N I V E R S A R Y 🧡

It's hard to believe that an entire year has passed since we witnessed the love story of and unfold at the enchanting Wilderness Reserve. Planning their wedding was not just an honour but an absolute joy, thanks to their kindness, humour, and their unique spin on tradition.

From the moment we embarked on this journey together, it was evident that Chessie and Mat wanted to create a wedding day that reflected their personalities and showcased the things that truly mattered to them. We had a blast brainstorming ideas, and came up with a plethora of unique concepts that made their special day extra memorable and 100% their own.

The standout features was the ‘orange cloud’ suspended from the ceiling of the orangery. It was a whimsical and vibrant touch that added a burst of colour and perfectly symbolised their playful spirits and zest for life!

Throughout the entire planning process, Chessie and Mat's infectious energy and genuine kindness shone brightly. They made every decision with love and intention, ensuring that their wedding was not only a celebration of their love but also an opportunity to create unforgettable memories for their guests. From personalised details to heartfelt speeches, every element was thoughtfully curated to make their loved ones feel truly cherished.

It was a privilege to witness the union of these two extraordinary souls, surrounded by their family and friends. Laughter echoed through the air, tears of joy were shed, and the dance floor was alive with celebration.

This was certainly a wedding that perfectly showcased the importance of embracing individuality. Chessie and Mat taught us that tradition can be reimagined, and that by infusing personal touches, a wedding becomes an authentic expression of the couple's unique journey.

Avington Park.

A private, family-owned country estate, local to us in Hampshire, and a place I have come to know very well over the last couple of years. With its expansive parkland grounds, tree lined river banks and opulent house steeped in royal history, this venue offers an intimate grandeur and an unrivalled backdrop for celebration.

We have several weddings planned at this year and it has been an absolute pleasure to get to know the team so well over the course of my very many visits! I have also had the opportunity to join teams of other wedding suppliers to produce inspiration in the form of creative editorials, most recently collaborating with to bring you our celebration of Spring, with a fresh take on a delicate floral concept of soft blues and tones of white and leaning in to a new found love of pattern in event design.

I've been a bit M.I.A for the last week or so.

After almost a month of being really quite ill with various ailments over the Christmas and New Year break, and a to-do list longer than I dared to look to the bottom of, I decided I was in desperate need of a break. Not a holiday type break, but rather, what I refer to as a 'Director's retreat'.

It was time away from the distractions of home - the family, the pets, the washing machine!...
..in surroundings deliberately chosen to inspire creativity as well as to provide comfort and promote proper rest.

As a solo-preneur, there is a lot that needs to be done within the business, in order for us to deliver the highest standards of service to our clients. Things that often get overlooked during our busiest periods, but which are essential to the smooth running of, well, everything!

It is so vital to give these tasks (some creative and some slightly more mundane) the space they need, and to allow myself the time to get fully engrossed in their development and/or nurture, without worrying about all the other little things that life demands from us everyday.

It was the most wonderful break, in the most beautiful location and whilst the purpose was entirely for work, it also gave me the rest I hadn't realised I was in such desperate need of.

So here I am, back in the office, feeling revitalised. Still with a ridiculously long to-do list as, the problem with space to be creative - you come up with a hundred new ideas!

I feel much more ready to take on 2023 and truly can't wait for the weddings we are planning this year.

Does anyone else take themselves away for a solo-retreat? Whether for business or just, because? I highly recommend it.

The Glorious Girls!

In custom designed gowns, what an energy these bridesmaids brought to Chessie and Mat's day. The fun, the love, the dancing, the tears, the TikTok filming, the long embraces and the endless, infectious laughter were an utter delight to witness!

Fun . Relaxed . Cuddles . Party atmosphere all day . All about the people we love...
..were all words and phrases used by and during our initial wedding planning consultation. Theirs was to be a wedding that bent the rules of tradition in order to encapsulate their dreams and vision.

There was, of course, a ceremony. But in place of a registrar or celebrant, it was led by a dear friend. A procession of glamorous bridesmaids wearing custom designed dresses was led by sister, Bronte, carrying their not-quite-one-year-old daughter. Chessie was accompanied, arm in arm down the aisle by both her Mother and her Father. Close friend, Ben, sang them down the aisle and the entire ceremony was filled with music, love, dancing, 2 surprises and a lot of laughter.

Celebrations fed into a relaxed, garden reception where drinks flowed from a large, central bar and guests gathered across the terraces and lawns of Sibton Estate. Chessie and Mat aspired to be completely present throughout their day, to mingle, chat, hug and laugh with each and every one of their guests. Therefore opting for informal dining choices over the more traditional sit down wedding breakfast. Clusters of Mediterranean styled soft seating provided a chic yet chilled, summer vibe, as guests sat back to feast from bamboo plates of grazing delights and artisan, wood fired pizza. There was more music, more dancing, more laughter and so much love seen and felt at every turn.

A short stroll from the main house, with popcorn bucket collection en-route, guests gathered around the sparkling sunken pool, adorned with floating white hydrangea blooms, to listen to tales of childhood, coming of age and the bridesmaids rap all about how a King became a Carter!

With towering tiers of chocolate strawberries in place of a wedding cake, ice cream pan rolls rather than dessert, and edible balloons and cocktails a plenty - the start of the evening reception was marked by a high-energy first 'break'-dance from Chessie & Mat, before guests danced into the night to the almighty sounds of a brass band like no other!

With absolute to-die-for cocktail concoctions, including bespoke creations to bring your cocktail dreams to life, guys and gals are the bar dream team and an absolute pleasure to work with every time. Based in Surrey but dragged as far as Suffolk by me to keep my wedding couples guests well refreshed, their service, knowledge, work ethic and attention to detail is second to none.

Table details

Probably one of the areas I spend most time thinking about and planning! The impact of a well laid table within a well designed setting is unbeatable. But it can also cause me the most stress on the day!

I am an absolute stickler for perfection when it comes to your table and I won't rest until every crease has been steamed out of the linen, every piece of cutlery straightened and re-straightened and each napkin folded perfectly to suit the plates and stationery. Add to this the personal details we try and incorporate in the form of individual, custom designed menus and place names and small elements such as these real apples from the orchard of our bride and groom's home. And then of course, there are the flowers!

The flowers on your table play a vital role in bringing the whole look together and elevating the design. They tell the story of the season, the size and form of the arrangements tell the story of your style and colours of the flowers will complement the overall concept of your day. And behind the flowers are the incredible talents of the floral designers that put these stunning looks together.

Always a huge fan of this elegant, fresh, green and white, summery style.

Whilst we do plan many a wedding that leans on the larger side in terms of guest numbers, we also love nothing more than designing and planning a more intimate event, whether it is a dinner the night before your wedding, a post wedding brunch or a private event at a hired venue or your home. There is often more opportunity to incorporate more intricate design details and it's often these small elements that make the biggest impact.

Eloise & Alexander hosted an intimate dinner for their closest friends and family the night before their wedding, giving them the chance to spend 'quality' time with the people that mean the most to them. Following a similar schedule to a wedding (minus the ceremony), with a drinks reception and a sit down meal, we designed an evening that would look very different from the main event. Not only did this allow us to double up on our creativity, but it also ensured they thoroughly made the most of their incredible venue and all the spaces it has to offer.

Choosing the right band for your wedding reception may not always be as straight forward as you think it might be. There are a lot of incredible bands out there but choosing the right one to set the tone you want for your wedding is key to ensuring the party maintains the right atmosphere throughout the evening.

We can help you select the right band based on the style and genre/s of music you like, your entertainment budget, how long you'd like live music for, whether you want the band to interact with your guests or stay put on a stage, how you think your guests will react - will they be up and dancing or sat back and enjoying from afar?

We have had the privilege of working with and seeing some of the best bands this country has to offer and it is always a highlight of the weddings we plan, to see everyone let their hair down for the evening reception and dance the night away.

The wonderful Otty and are an EPIC addition to your event. An interactive, energetic and soulful group of unbelievably talented musicians, and always guaranteed to not only get the party started, but absolutely keep it going to the very end! The worst bit about having these guys at your wedding? - the end of the final song, marking the end of a day no one wants to see finish!

It's the weekend again...already! After a very slow and steady start to the new year, I am feeling slightly more in the land of the living but not quite 100% yet. So I, for one, will be taking this weekend to spend some relaxing time with the family before the youngest is back to school next week.

Long walks, a roast dinner and a movie in front of the fire are definitely calling. Whilst this lovely pair will be getting ready to jet off on their honeymoon. Not jealous at all!

What a festive season it was - or lack of! After an incredible wedding to finish off our season here at the ever beautiful I was hit hard by the horrible flu bug that seems to be sweeping the country. Move over Covid - this was significantly worse for me, rendering me be bound and useless for 2 weeks, completely missing all the Christmas and New Year celebrations! This is what happens when you stop after a good 9 months of a full blown wedding whirlwind! But I see it as a positive. I've got it out of the way and I can now look forward into 2023 with only healthier days ahead, and what a year it is set to be.

We have some incredible weddings in the planning this year and we can't wait to get started again with all the planning and design prep. I'm easing back into work, with shorter, slower days to start with as I allow myself time to get completely better, but I am very much back at the emails so if you have any planning, styling or furniture hire questions or enquiries, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
