*********VOTE TODAY! **********
Humanist UK campaign for many many humanist issues so while we consider an impending change if government and the future of our country, reflect that we share a trait with Iran in that our higher government voting house allows for religious leaders to vote on secular issues WHAAAAT???
HUK campaign to end this, and many other humanist issues - follow the link for a current top 9!!👇

Some of the issues we're campaigning on at this 💪

Thanks to our members for helping us to advance these causes. Our team is busy as we work to reach as many of tomorrow's MPs as possible - as well as party officials and civil servants - to lay the groundwork for working on some of our priority campaigns with the next government and opposition.

All your help in the form of shares, likes, donations, and memberships is truly appreciated.

As said, What JOY these guys were to marry! .cathryn
And
Here they are cutting their cake after performing the rarely seen 'Cut out heart Race*' a fun, engaging and slightly competitive end to a truly lovely ceremony!
All of which sums this fabulous doting duo up!

When two people just bring joy to everyone they meet. Anna and Bob, wonderful individuals and a truly incredible couple, rubbing off a bit of their sparkle on our Wednesday morning.

Oh and that sign? A surprise from Anna to Bob on their wedding day, quoting the misheard lyrics from their first dance song ✨

A great day and contrary to the image, hearts were full to the brim rather than cut in half!!!!

Anna and Bob and the cut out heart race ❤️

An old German tradition where the couple race to cut around the heart shape to get through to the other side. Meant to symbolise overcoming the first challenge as a married couple, apparently the winner is also the one to make the big decisions in a marriage! This was so much fun after Anna and Bob’s humanist ceremony, and this fiercely competitive couple were neck and neck with Bob claiming victory (hotly contested however!) - making it even more meaningful was the heart design was drawn by Bob’s daughter. This wonderful couple’s day had so many truly beautiful moments and we can’t wait to share more.

Throw back to the summer and some media coverage by Humanists UK and Humanist Ceremonies on our continuing campaigning to change the UK laws around legal wedding ceremonies so people can get married where and when they want - as is their RIGHT!
The UK Govt shouldn’t wait to legally recognise humanist marriages

Amazing bursary opportunity!!!!!
ever fancied a new career??
Do it!!!!
with We want to see more black and brown people actively working as celebrants within our modern and diverse communities.

To start to shift the status quo, we have created a bursary for brown and black people, who would love to have the opportunity to access this amazing career path but who for various reasons never thought it could be possible for them.

Our full bursaries will enable you to train as both a Celebrants Collective Certified Wedding and Funeral Celebrant.

Could this be you? Do you think that you have what it takes to be a celebrant and also a Celebrants Collective celebrant?

Find out more about our POC celebrant bursary and apply via the link in our bio 👆🏻👆🏾

Let us help you to become an amazing celebrant, whilst also bringing more diversity into the celebrant community.

great news for Wales! humanism is on the school curriculum. Lets home England catches up soon!

Wales Humanists today heralded a ‘new era of inclusivity’ as state-funded schools officially roll out a changed curriculum replacing Religious Education (RE) with Religion, Values, and Ethics (RVE), fully incorporating the teaching of non-religious worldviews such as humanism alongside those rel...

*****Warning- Non-wedding related post!****
****Please share!!****

Humanist & well being related post alert!

I volunteered for Norwich Farmshare a community small hold farm over lockdown and it was instrumental in supporting my mental and physical wellbeing during a very difficult time, which saw the wedding industry put on hold for over a year. I"m now on the board of trustees and still remain very actively involved with them.

if anyone has an interest in locally grown food and community food projects, Norwich FarmShare grow local veg for the community. They also provide 'Solidarity shares' veg bags to low income households, offer onsite workshops & volunteer days, have a highly active social media containing info about food and growing communities, and a volunteer group of about 100+ volunteers who farm, harvest and pack veg weekly.

One of our amazing volunteers has sucessfully applied for the Aviva Community Fund crowdfunder. NFS have a 'place' in the list of projects that they feature, but we have to fundraise 25% of our target from our own community in the first week, then we have a higher chance of getting funded by Aviva employees when they are given money to donate later this week.
We have raised £1000 and now have under £300 to raise by TOMORROW TUESDAY MARCH 8TH.
If anyone can donate or share this please do! If 60 people give £5 we've achieved our target and will be one step closer to our fund raising plans for increased subsidised veg bags for low income families, and some equipment for the farm.
Thank you 🙏

This is where your journey begins - Notebooks!!!
I love a new notebook, I'm sad to see my favourite finally filled up, a present from a dear friend I've not seen in person in well over a year but I think of her everytime Ive opened it so thank Tink from !
And so onto a new book and a new fresh season of weddings and WRITING! in these books go all my notes from when I first meet my couple, THAT planning meeting when I gather their stories and craft it into words, to final ideas that spring on me the week before - even after that ceremony script is done dusted, perfected and printed ready to go!!! Those ideas will be ready & waiting for the next fabulous couple I meet.
Also included are my trusty laptop without which I'd be lost and a hand painted paperweight made by my daughter to keep all my ideas firmly in one place!
I'm off to make some more notes now.... Just had an idea!!!!

Its Census Time! Make sure you record your beliefs/life philosophy, its important that we all stand up to be counted to understand the belief demographic of our nation.
The last Census in 2011 showed 27.9% of the UK were non religious.
A Eurostats Eurobarometer survey in 2018 found that 40.2% of the UK population are non-religious.
The results are also dependent on what/how the question is asked - in a 2011 UK YouGov Poll, 61% identified with a religion and 39% none but when then asked 'are you religious' 65% said NO!
Its a growing movement!

Writing 'Jedi' as your religion in the may not have the outcome you're looking for. .

See our campaign page for all the essential info, FAQs, and guidance for filling the Census in. http://census-campaign.org.uk

Bespoke and highly personnal wedding ceremonies

I became a celebrant because I saw the joy an individually crafted ceremony gave to my friends when they married, and I couldnt think of a better role in life then to facilitate this joy!
