What a year 💕 I am intrigued as to what 2024 will bring.
If I am going to aim for anything, it will be more peace and tranquility amongst the chaos of this lifestyle.. Taking more time to enjoy the simple things life and the earth have to offer.. Taking more time for myself, creating art for arts sake, and connecting with others, aside from just work work work...

So I have to take a moment to make a post about some new additions to my kit that I have introduced this week! These are things I’ve been thinking about for some time, as I think as professional painters we are always analysing our set ups to improve upon the things that make high volume events stressful and how we can make them run more smoothly, because they are inevitable! 🤟🏻
I also wanted something that stood out and screamed a professional look. And it also had to be adaptable to branded/non-branded jobs.
Firstly I invested in a few crowd control belt barriers. I personally feel my stress heightened when my personal space is limited - and these have really help with keeping the face painting area a calm space that people have to be invited into and then leave. It also helps for creating ‘can’t miss it!’ places to put important signage.
I also worked on creating a series of signage which I can interchange and velcro on to the barriers. Other signs that aren’t pictured include a ‘Just on a break, back at _____’, a closed sign to attach to the barriers, as well as a ‘Sorry; I’m the last in line!’ sign that I give to the last parent as I close the queue.
Everything is professional looking but unbranded. I created one sign with my QR code and website/socials on that I can put up on my own jobs. I also got this cool little 3d printed instagram desk plaque that I can velcro on to the top of my chalkboard 🤟🏻
I created some signs as PVC poster banners to fit my new black chalkboard aframe - with the thinking that the aframe can be moved position if required (ie, to the end of the queueline when the queue closes!). These are also velcroed in, so I can remove them easily for storage as well as interchange them very easily… For example, tomorrow I have a wedding that I am going to hand paint a custom sign for that I can just stick into the frame for the day!
One week with this set up and I can honestly say it feels life changing!

This is the second of 3 pieces of lioness themed body art that we created on the day after a few weeks of trying out different concepts and prep; it took around 2 hours to complete - very used to only being limited an hour to a back piece absolute maximum on a full paint, but wanted to make this as detailed as possible!

This is just one of the 3 pieces of art we created on the day after a few weeks of trying out different concepts and prep; and it took just over one and a half hours to complete - wanted to get it as perfect as can be and we were lucky to have the time! The trickiest part was sketching it and planning it out on Anita’s hands before we started painting - trying to get the proportions looking right and it lining up correctly. But after that, it was so much fun and really lovely chatting to Anita whilst we did the craziest manicure she’ll ever have. 😂 💅

A little concept doodle I did back when I very first got my ipad around a year and a half ago and was playing around learning procreate… vs, what I saw when I arrived on the @traumatica.fof site that the incredible build teams put together!
I gotta admit, I did have a little happy cry when I saw it..💕🥹 Just look at the size of the thing! It became a really standout set piece at the event and I just couldn’t help but smile every time I looked at it 💕
Anyone who’s followed my journey always has known how much of a theme park/scare geek I’ve always been and how much those industries mean to me. You will have seen my set paintings, makeups and demos over the years, you may have even seen my acting on rare occasions.. 😅 But something like this was an area I always dreamed of getting into but didn’t think at all it was possible. I felt lucky enough and eternally grateful to be invited to be a part of the Real McCoy FX makeup team already, but to then develop that and be asked to work as part of Bill’s creative team too just was an opportunity I didn’t think I would ever get. So, forgive the essay, but stuff like this really means the world to me. And to be able to be a small part of such an incredible team constantly blows my mind 🤯🙏🏻 This particular facade will forever stay in my memory! 💕

It’s a shame that only a very short snippet, as it was an amazing performance with a fantastic illusion. It seems the general public reaction is split on people being annoyed because they wanted to see more, vs people being annoyed because they got scared… I mean, to me - that’s a result and a resounding success right? 🤡😈
I’m keeping fingers crossed they’ll upload the whole performance to youtube or something - as it’s ‘too scary’ for tv, haha.. Go let them know if you want to see it! 🤡🎨💕
