Today sees the end of our tulip season. I have loved having them back again this year and am so grateful for the joy they have brought, especially after the endless rain has done its best to dampen our spirits!
Thanks to everyone who has supported my little business by buying a bunch.
We will be back offering mixed bunches, buckets and gift bouquets soon so watch this space 🤩

Colours that make me swoon in this week’s Friday flowers 🩷
Come with me on a little walk around the flower field this August to see what’s flowering, taken yesterday in the gorgeous sunshine, the rain has decided to come back again today!
Almost in order 🙈!…
Rudbeckia Goldilocks
Pennycress (going to seed - beautiful seed heads which will be perfect for drying for Autumn)
Ammi visnaga
Dahlias
Snaps (Appleblossom)
More Dahlias
More Snaps (Madame butterfly bronze I think)
Cosmos - flowering their socks off, love them so much!
Chrysanthemums sneaking in there. They’re on their way for later in the year.
Mums veg patch
A few beds of mostly dead stuff from the earlier flowering hardy annuals that saw us through June/early July, being cleared now ready for biennials to go in.
Hydrangeas - gorgeous and huge, they do so well for us, generally too big for our bouquets but good for wedding buckets and fabulous for drying.
(Nearly forgot the digger and dumper trucks hard at work!! Very important features!)
The rest of the plot… zinnias, sunflowers, more cosmos, more rudbeckias and more, the video would’ve been too long!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the little tour. What are you loving in your garden right now? 🌸 🌺 💐

You need the sound up full to appreciate that this is both glorious and terrifying in equal measure when picking!!
A bed full of poppies buzzing with bees is definitely good for the soul, but also requires a slightly comical run around the field to shake off protective bumbles who don’t like me picking any of their precious flowers 🫣 I had a bad reaction to a sting last year so am slightly more nervous around them than usual!! Luckily no one was there to watch my ministry of silly walks 😂

Gosh those ruffles are pretty 🧡 even in the rain!
Narcissi ‘Replete’
A little video of what our plot looks like in February.
It’s always amazes me how much it transforms between now and Summer. It doesn’t look like much now but there are signs of life springing up everywhere. Narcissi, tulips, alliums and iris are all popping their heads up and the biennials we planted out late last summer are sitting green-leafed waiting their turn to get in on the action! I’m sure I can feel a little buzz of excitement in the air, or maybe that’s just in my head! 😃💐
Throwback to the last bouquet of the season in October which already feels a lifetime ago! I really loved the autumn colours this year 😍
And just look at that sunshine ☀️

Well here’s a bit of flowery cheer at the end of a very rainy windy day!
The flowers are still beautiful but the flow is getting slower as the weather turns away from Summer and it is getting very close to the time of year where put a hold on our fresh flower orders!
We are hoping to squeeze another couple of weeks out of the season yet but will keep you updated as we get nearer the time.
Instead of getting out in the field today to clear some of the summer plants that have gone over I made the very sensible decision to hide away inside and organise my bulb orders and plan!
As much as I always hope... I realise no more hours in the day can be made (and I must stop moaning about it!! 🙊)
This year it is my mission to use the hours I have more wisely, which in turn should mean you lovely lot getting more flowers! 💐
... wisely does not mean spending half an hour rummaging through seed packets chaotically stacked in multiple Tupperwares every time I want to sow some seed 🥴
So voila! Mini weekend project complete (absolutely with the help of my husband.. I wish I could hold a drill straight but I really can’t! 🙈)
...I will be very smug next time I go to get my seed packets!! 😝
Anyone else getting organised??
For anyone who needs a few moments of timeout...
We have so many wildlife visitors keeping us company whilst we work but this video I took of beautiful butterflies on the scabious during our first year of flower farming never fails to make me smile.
Enjoy xx
