Aneurysm Awareness 💜
PLEASE SHARE MY STORY
On Sunday, I was having a wonderful morning — full of energy, making plans, enjoying the day — when suddenly I was struck by the WORST pain in my head I have ever felt in my life.
In an instant, everything changed.
I became very ill very quickly and I don’t remember most of what happened next.
My son Jerzi carried me to his car and drove me straight to PCH where I was scanned immediately, they confirmed I had a bleed on my brain and that I needed urgent medical attention.
By now I had deteriorated so quickly that my family thought I was going to die!
I was then blue-lighted to UHW for emergency treatment. More scans confirmed I had suffered a sudden brain haemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm.
I am so incredibly lucky to be alive.
I will never be able to fully express my gratitude:
To my amazing son Jerzi for acting so quickly and getting me to the hospital - you truly saved my life!
To Nikki for being right there by my side!
To the staff at PCH who were ready and waiting to help, and for their fast, decisive action and undeniable compassion.
To the ambulance crew who got me safely where I needed to be.
And to the incredible staff on T4 ward at UHW Cardiff — for performing lifesaving surgery, for their dedication and commitment and for taking care of me - and continuing to take care of me for the rest of my stay with them however long that may be.
Big shout out especially to Phillip who looked after me throughout the long hours of the night following my operation!
And to my family, who have been beside me every single step of the way - each and every one of you - I am so so lucky to have you and I love you all from the bottom of my heart ✨🙏✨
(I just wish visiting hours were longer and allowed more people at a time, so you could spend longer with me!)
YOU ALL HELPED SAVE MY LIFE❤️🩹
I have a long journey of recovery ahead, yes — but I survived to continue that journey.
Please, if you ever experience the “worst headache of your life,” do not ignore it. I had no warning. I didn’t even know I had an aneurysm. Seeking help immediately saved my life.
Forever grateful to God. 🙏💜
