We made it through January there is lots beginning to happen in the growing patch already, such as…. The Hellebore truly the stars of the winter garden! Their ability to flower in the cold months when most other flowers are dormant makes them a great choice. Plus, their nodding, rose-like blossoms in shades of white, pink, purple, and even green add a touch of elegance and charm to any shady garden space.

Since they’re perennials, they’ll return year after year, becoming even more beautiful over time. And despite their delicate look, they’re incredibly hardy and resistant to deer and rabbits—another reason to love them!

There’s a trick to picking them, though—you have to be patient and wait for the seed head to set within the petals to ensure they last longer once cut. Some gardeners even swear by searing the stem with just-boiled water to help prolong their vase life.

Join us for a festive workshop on Tuesday 10th December.
Begin the morning crafting stacking rings with Elly Harvey of Elly Harvey Jewellery , followed by a homemade lunch with Christmas sweet treats. Finish the day by creating a bespoke wreath to adorn your front door.
As we have so much to fit in.
Arrive at Northcombe 9.15am to start at 9.30am
Tea and coffee will be provided along with festive snacks.
Lunch 12.30 pm
Followed by wreath making (wrap up warm it’s in the barn)
Tea and coffee finish by 4.30 pm
All this for £115.00 plus the cost of your silver.

Glorious autumn colour it’s still so mild, I still have buckets of flowers going out.
I’m afraid I would rather like a frost and for the w**ds to stop growing.

Cosmos, here are just a few of the varieties that I’m growing this season.
Cosmos are definitely in my top 10 favourite flowers, top ten to grow from seed, top ten of easy flowers to grow and top ten in the amount of flowers you get from 1 seed, buckets and buckets of theses gorgeous blooms. PLUS the bees cannot get enough of them.
