We will be the premier UK stockist of these amazing couture designs, that can only currently be found in France and New Zealand.

Delivery times 🤍

Did you know that wedding dresses are made to order for you? They take 3-7 MONTHS to be made (it varies from Designer to Designer). You also want to allow time for your alterations (approx 2-3 months)

This means that in order to have access to the full choice of our designers in store, you need to have at least 9 months until your wedding. Anything under this and there may be some designers we cannot get you in time as they will arrive too close to the wedding! Eeek!

Now with a timescale of less than 9 months, we will always be able to get you a beautiful dress. But you may just be a little more restricted with designers/designs. Now this is true country wide, not just for our shop.

When we explain this to our brides, it always comes as such a shock. And sometimes we get the impression that they think it’s a sales tactic. But if you do a little research you’ll see all us shops are saying the same.

I think we’ve got used to living in an ASOS world where you can order something and get it in 24 hours. But wedding dresses are not the same. They are carefully constructed, take time to cut, apply each beautiful layer of lace, tulle and add the delicate (often hand-sewn) beading.⠀And also of course, you’re not the only bride the Designer is making a wedding dress for. They can only make so many a month. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Don’t put dress shopping off as you may find your choices are more limited the closer to your wedding you get. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You’ll have the most choice if you start your wedding dress shopping at least 9 months before your big day 🤍⠀You’ll have the least stressful experience if you shop 10-12 months before ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And if you see something you love, don’t hesitate because the delivery dates we give you at that time are only valid then. If you leave it a few weeks/months they may be even longer! (they only have a set number of tailors so if they get a flurry of orders, they could fill up for that month so their production dates shift even further back)

This month, Chameleon celebrated 40 amazing years of helping brides find the dress of their dreams! As the proud owner for the past 8 years, I’ve been truly honored to meet so many incredible people along the way. We marked the milestone with a lovely intimate get-together, supported by friends, past staff, the original owner, Yvonne and some wonderful local small businesses who made the evening even more special. A heartfelt big thank you for leaving your cosy warm sofas to celebrate with us 🥺

To our past and present brides and our incredible team: thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our journey. Here’s to many more years of magic, memories, and dream dresses! 💍✨

We have to thank the incredible team who smashed it out the park with their incredible balloon installations and also who provided a mouth watering feast of a table!

The dreaded Discontinued List!

We have had the sad news that all the dresses shown here are being discontinued by

This means that after 30/12/2024 we will no longer be able to order one of these beauties. These are some of our absolute faves so we will be sad not to have them hanging on the rails any more. But the great news for you is that our samples of these dresses will be available to purchase off the peg at a discount!

Dresses get discontinued by designers for a number of reasons. And sometimes we gets lots of notice and sometimes none! It might be that they can no longer source the lace/fabric or it just sometimes is that as designers produce new collections each year, they usually decide to reduce their back catalogue.

If you have had your eye on one of these gorgeous gals, hurry and get booked in before they’re discontinued.

Yes we do try on the dresses - but it’s not just to have a play. It’s all for you - we promise!

Firstly when a new dress arrives we like to pop it on one of our girls so we can see it on a real body, with real curves. When we go buying dresses for the boutique sometimes we only get to see them on mannequins so it’s great to see how the fabric sits and feels. We like to get a feel for the dress - will it be good on someone with a heavy bust, what structure does it have, how does it sit across a tummy? That way we know when to pull it for our brides according to their needs and wants.

Secondly, we love to show you in pictures and videos how the dress you’ve been dreaming about on our website looks in real life.

First things first. You don’t have to lose weight for your wedding. [say it louder for the people at the back]

YOU DON’T HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT FOR YOUR WEDDING

Your fiancée is marrying you for you and not your dress size. Your worth is not defined by the size label in your dress and none of your guests will see your dress size - just you wearing a stunning dress 🤍

But you do you and if you do want to lose a few pounds before the wedding know these 2 key things:

1) as a good rule of thumb, wedding dresses can be taken in by around 2 dress sizes. This means that you can still find your dream dress, get it ordered and still lose a few pounds if this is what you truly want to do.

2) Don’t leave shopping too late. We often see brides put off shopping as they want to lose weight first. The problem is that they can then sometimes come to us too late to order a dress (our dresses take 3-6 months to be made and you need your dress to arrive at least 2 months before your wedding to avoid grey hairs through stress and to allow for alterations). 9-12 months is the sweet spot for ordering your dress.

“My journey to find a wedding dress wasn’t the quickest one! I had been to lots of shops all over London and to be honest liked a lot of the dresses. Being indecisive I knew it was always going to be a struggle but then I started really looking for the designer that I wanted and absolutely fell in love with Eva Lendel.

Chameleon Bride stocked Eva Lendel so off to Bournemouth I went. From the moment we stepped in the shop the experience was like no other. Kaleigh was amazing and asked me questions I hadn’t even thought of. She guided me through the different elements of dresses and helped narrow down the search, her attention to detail was incredible and even during the last alteration fitting I knew she just wanted everything to be perfect. I adored Lanvee by Eva Lendel and couldn’t believe I had found my dream dress. The next year of accessory fittings, alterations and getting ready for the big day was just magical. I felt so special from start to finish and feel so lucky to be surrounded by such knowledgeable and lovely ladies that work at Chameleon. I would recommend them over and over again.
