Making the most of the last few mid-week days off with my mini me! 🫶🏽 before she becomes a full time school student 🥹❤️

The juggle of being a mum & running two businesses has been HARD this summer. The guilt of sitting at my laptop all day whilst willow just potters around and does her thing 🥹 & not to mention the 15 hours days on weekends (& the wedding hangover on the Sunday)

But being able to have the choice to just get up and go to the beach on a Tuesday is a dream - so I really wouldn’t have it any other way 🙏🏻🤩

We’re celebrating her 4th birthday this week so I’ll be taking a step back from admin over the next couple of days to celebrate 💗💗💗

So nice to see some new faces on here! So I thought a little get to know me post would be a good way to end the week 😎

I thought I’d keep it real & not use any branding photos for this 😅 cos let’s be real, that’s literally what life looks like 1% of the time 🤣

✨ I’m 31 years young

✨I’ve been in weddings for 6 years; but took the leap of self employment just last year

✨ We bought our first home & we’re doing a slow and steady renovation project

✨ Contemplating getting a puppy 🐶

✨ My network of friends complete me - without them I’d be nothing ❤️ I’ve got friendships of 27 years 😱 I love watching us all take different paths in life. But our friendship will remain the same.

✨ I’m a huge believer in manifesting and write down my goals once a week 🙈😅

✨ Before falling in love with the wedding industry; I worked in hospitality management from coffee shops to restaurants from my early 20s

✨ My favourite types of weddings are where I’m welcomed in to the family with open arms 🥹 & I’m a huge lover of a relaxed vibe with a massive party!

✨ Marquee weddings at home also have a super special place in my heart ❤️

✨ My other business with Amy is taking off - we’re mainly doing freelance work in venues to help them get off the ground. This keeps me busy for sure 😆

✨ Other than the gym - I actually don’t make time for any other hobbies, I’m an actual workaholic 🙈 Although I’m making a promise to myself to have more fun & to take full days off. even in peak season. No one wants a burnt out planner 🫶🏽

✨ is the master chef in our house, I eat like a queen. If it wasn’t for him I’d 100% eat out every day 😂

✨ Espresso martinis & dippy bread with olive oil & balsamic is my idea of a top date night 😅 (although - daft fact. I sweat ridiculously whenever I eat anything with vinegar in. The tash and under my eyes hahah so weird)

A stunning ceremony on their front drive, followed by speeches + a cocktail drinks reception, an unreal grazing table + pizza, a DIY bar in their greenhouse + lots of Aperol!

1 week ago ❤️ my best friend married her soul mate 🥹 it was such an honour to be by your side as your MOH & appreciate it massively that I was able to live up to role fully without any planning involvement 🥹

From pre-wedding sunsets & pizza, uncle Noel serenading us all & DC10 send off 🫡 safe to say we all had the best weekend of our lives. I’m not sure when I’ll fully get over it 😩🥹 I can’t wait to share more 💕

MONDAY ☕️❤️ Realised I’ve been so quiet on here, last week was a bit mad! Had an unreal shoot with @sj.fromthesmithsphotography & @simon.fromthesmithsphotography then got seriously struck down with the worst illness 🤒 which has moved into my ears, they’re ringing so bad it constantly feels like I’ve just left the club 🙈 & I can only listen in at one thing at a time 😅 (is this old age?!) 5 Things to Ask Your Wedding Venue 👇🏼❤️ 🏨 Is there accommodation on site? If not can you recommend hotels near by? - Sometimes venues work in partnership with local hotels, check with your venue first as you may be able to get a discount. 🕯What restrictions are there in terms of decor? - Can you have confetti? Are candles allowed? Are you able to hang things from the walls or ceilings? 🎶 Is there a PA system at the venue? - Don’t rely on the band to bring equipment as they may not set up until a later time in the day - Ask your venue if there are speakers & microphones for your usage or will they need to be hired externally - Music pre-ceremony & during the wedding breakfast is often overlooked. ⏰How flexible are the timings of the day? - For anyone that knows me I’m a big advocate of “Your Day Your Way”! However some venues run on their own timeframes which sometimes are sometimes nonnegotiable. - If you’re not fussed on cutting a cake or what a more relaxed feel for the Wedding Breakfast, don’t be afraid to ask the venue what they suggest. 🪑What Table & Chairs are available? - It’s great to ask what tables and chairs (& how many!) are available as they might not go with your overall theme and you may have to think about sourcing externally. - Double checking the style and size is also important when looking at your table plan E.g. Some venues may only promote round tables, but if it’s banqueting you want don’t be afraid to ask. Or If you’re looking at round tables, how many fit comfortably around the table? It’s so easy to get confused at wedding quotes that seem unaffordable or you just assume that Wedding suppliers add 0’s on because well, it’s a wedding! And we totally get it - you haven’t been married or engaged before so how are you meant to know how much things cost? 🤯 Let me help you - Here’s a mini breakdown on exactly what it is that goes into every wedding quote 👇🏼 ⏰ Time; the time spent on a wedding is invaluable, blood, sweat & tears go into absolutely every wedding. Not just on the day, but the months leading up to it & months after if you’re a photographer in editing mode. 👰🏻‍♀️Limations; We’re limited to how many weddings we take on due to the amount of time each wedding takes to carefully prepare. 💬Expertise & Experience; Working in the world of weddings is wonderful, majority of suppliers will always give you their expert advice if needed. 💐Cost price of Florals & Hire items; Prices of flowers can fluctuate (hello Brexit) suppliers will always try work with your budget if you have a budget in mind on what you want to spend but will also be realistic on the actual cost price of these items. 🚚Set up & Delivery costs; For venues that are a little further afield delivery costs may occur as well as set up charges. 👭🏽Extra guests = Extra tables = More tables to dress = More 💰to spend; The more tables you have the higher the cost on the quote due to needing the additional items to dress the tables.
