It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our friend and talented local photographer, Edward Handley.

Edward was a constant presence at Lymelight; front of stage, camera in hand, capturing the acts as well as the energy of the crowd.

We invite you to join us in honouring Edward by sharing some of his work from this year’s event.

He brought the festival to life through his photography and serves as a reminder that Lymelight is much more than music, it’s about the community that comes together to celebrate and create memories.

Edward was an integral part of that community, and his absence will be deeply felt 💚

From glorious sunshine to thunder and lightning, orchestral rock bands to hyperpop soloists, pints and cocktails to kimchi fries and hotdogs, acoustic songwriters to indie quartets - Lymelight Festival 2024 had it all.

That.was.absolutely.epic! You danced in the sun, the rain and the thunder and we all a ruddy good time doing it! ☀️ 🍻

We always wanna go bigger and better year on year to create a free event that showcases the best of local music - and we think we did that this year?! More stages, more music, more people! 🙏

The biggest thank you to the Castle businesses who fund Lymelight Festival as part of 😘, alongside our headline sponsors . Thanks to , (king of lineups!), our presenters Emily Rose Galvin and LFE, as well all of our amazing venues who hosted venue takeovers and pop ups over the weekend.

This feels like the Oscars!

We have SO many amazing artists doing incredible bits and we love that we can bring all that together, give em a stage and shine a (Lyme)light on on what the Staffs music scene has to offer on local and national scale.

Lastly, YOU! If you were in-front of a stage or in a bar soaking up the Lymelight feels, thanks to you! You make all the hard work worth it 🫶

So we can officially announce that next Friday we will be hosting a UK Hip Hop event for !
Lineup to be revealed in the next few days!
We have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes and massively appreciate Lymelight & for giving us the opportunity and trusting us with the event which will take place on Friday 24th of May, to kick off what will be an incredible weekend of music showcasing the vast amount of talent the local area has to offer across not 1, not 2, but 3 stages! Alongside the venue takeovers!
Free entry, great music a great venue and pure vibes, what more could you ask for !

Lymelight Festival is back for 2024 and boy is it going to be a Bank Holiday treat of live, local music 🙌 🎶

Showcasing the best of emerging music talent from Staffordshire, Lymelight will take over not one, not two but three (!!) outdoor stages and host over 40 acts on 25th & 26th May 📅

As if that’s not good enough, Castle Artisan Market, Canonball-Records, The Crossways, Lymestone Brewery and delicious street food stalls will be joining us across the weekend! 🍺 🌮

We’ll be announcing the line ups in the coming weeks so keep those eyes peeled and pop the date in your diary 🙌 👀
