Hi, I'm Nadine and I'm a creative wedding photographer, taking beautiful and natural documentary style pictures of people in love, with each other, and their children. As a Richmond wedding photographer I work a lot around the Surrey and London area but given my passion for travel and new places, I'm delighted to take on destination weddings further afield in the UK or abroad. First looks…far more common in the USA than the UK and Ireland but I’m actually a big fan. Why’s that you ask? Well, you get:

- Some alone time, just the two of you, to let all the emotion out without an audience.
- Some decent, prolonged hugging time
- Some couple portraits in the bag while you’re looking you’re most fresh
- Way more time after the ceremony to spend at your drinks reception hugging everyone else.

Here’s Alex and Josh enjoying all these benefits during their first look at the stunning in Ireland, where you’re spoilt for choice for amazing spots but I particularly love their pergola arches…beautiful soft greenery making a great frame but also discreet and private. Just stunning 😍

Well tonight was an unexpected treat! I’m back at one of my favourite venues in Ireland with my good friend to shoot and film the wedding of Alex and Josh tomorrow.

There was some chatter over our dinner about the Aurora Borealis potentially making an appearance and I’d mentioned seeing the lights has long been on my bucket list.

I never imagined shooting them barefoot, braless and in my nightshirt. We thought we were nipping out for 5 mins but so mesmerising were they we grabbed our ‘proper cameras’ (and some trousers) to head up to the main castle and see if we could get a more striking composition.

I think it’s fair to say neither of us expected them to be quite so beautiful this evening…the shapes, the colours, the movement was so ethereal and the starburst one just blew our tiny minds. What a truly magical thing it is and I’m feeling very humbled to have experienced it. Bucket list ticked…but now I just want more. Praying for round 2 tomorrow so we can insert Alex & Josh into the frame!

Well would you look at these two…believing in that thing called love!

They’re another of my couples who hate having their photo taken and said I’d be hard pushed to get a nice photo of them. Well, I suppose these will have to do. If only they looked a little happier to be married 😜

Woo hoo…kicking off 2024 with another Fearless award in the newest collection.

If ever there’s a wedding you need to be fearless at, it’s a Jewish wedding!

During the hora (Jewish dancing) you’re subject to centrifugal forces during the spin, at risk of being crushed in the lineup as the groom jumps over you, tossed high in the air reliant on your well-oiled friends to catch you, and then hanging on for dear life as you’re precariously lifted up on chairs with not much to hang on to.

Not surprisingly Justine’s face is looking more fearful than fearless but can you blame her? 😂

Thanks so much to the judges for loving this image as much as I do and thank you for braving it up there. Respect! 🙌

Imagine if you will, “The Ease to Please” spectrum, along which you as a photographer, place all your stakeholders and audience for your work.

At the bottom (as in the easiest to please) you have the people for whom you can do no wrong. They love everything you put out there, always super supportive, and the love is unconditional. In essence this is your mum/dad…and the dog (she is my biggest fan!)

At the opposite end of the spectrum, you have the ‘almost impossible to please’. The super picky, never quite happy types who always have something to say. These are your ‘internet trolls (God love ‘em)..and yourself! Photographers are their own worst critics - and notoriously difficult to please.

Somewhere in the lower to middle half are people who I find fairly easy to please - friends/family who appreciate a good photo, wedding industry suppliers who are grateful for pro-photos to share, and clients. Now, let me state loud and clear for the record, my clients are THE MOST important people for me to please, and I always prioritise their needs, which is maybe why they’re always happy with their photos and therefore fall in to my ‘easier to please’ zone.

Which brings me to the upper end of the harder to please spectrum. For me this is your above average talent in the wedding photography world. Highly experienced ‘seen it/invented it/mastered it’ types, and the super creative movers and shakers raising the bar at every level. These types can be found in abundance in the Fearless Photographers community, widely considered as the gold standard for wedding industry awards and the arena in which I choose to compete.

To be judged by my industry peers competing at the same level and to finish the year in the Top 25 Photographers worldwide with 6 Fearless awards was immense for me. It means so much when these people with a highly trained eye and exacting standards love my work as much as my clients, my mum and my dog do. Thank you...I am suitably pleased!

Huge thanks to my amazing clients who do amazing things at their amazing weddings, without whom I’d have no amazing photos!

and his wildest animal know how to wedding!

They weddinged all day, and all night. It might have been my longest wedding of 2023 but I loved every minute of their back garden wedding. If my schedule allows, I’ll often stay till the end of the night because what party ever peaked at the first dance? Plus, I’m no stranger to some dancefloor action myself…when in Rome/Chichester 💃🏽

The look of love…not between Victoria and Chris - that came a few moments later - but between her grandma and grandad as he walked her down the aisle.

A quiet momentary exchange between them that oozes love and pride that makes this Victoria’s favourite photo from their wedding day.

I’m in the process of making their precious wedding album, and one of my favourite parts is reviewing my clients image selections with them. I get to learn which photos move them the most and the reasons they’ve chosen them. Hearing these back stories gives me all the warm and fuzzy feels but also brings even more life to the story we’re laying down forever. Print your photos my lovelies…keep the love story alive.

I’m not generally someone who thrives on chaos but I absolutely love the organised chaos of a confetti shot. Even as a wedding photographer who has shot literally hundreds of them you never quite know what you’re going to get and I think that’s the exciting part for me.

You’re at the mercy of guests throwing them at the right time - some are proper eager beavers and just incapable of waiting till the count of 3!

You’re also subject to random body parts (mostly arms in fairness 😄) popping up and blocking your view at the crucial moment which can sometimes produce an even better and unexpectedly amusing photo...other times, well, not so!

But most significantly you’re at the mercy of how the petals chose to fall, what they decide to reveal and what they decide to conceal, and with this photo of the absolute confetti bomb at and ’s Oxford University Wedding the stars lined up rather nicely.

I LOVE what a hot-mess of petals it is. If you’re going to have confetti…well, really HAVE it. The fact that aside from one guest, all you can see of anyone’s face in the photos is Alice and Matt’s huge smiles is what does it for me.

I have loved this photo since I took it a while back and was always quietly disappointed that it hadn’t picked up any awards in any of the competitions I’d entered it in…until NOW! And not just any award…a highly coveted Fearless award no less.

Thank you to the judges for recognising this image - I’m glad you love it as much as I do, and for other photographers out there, it’s proof in what we say as industry judges in competitions…if you believe in your image, keep the faith and keep entering…it’s time may well come.

Happy birthday to the new Mrs Treu and her crew who went head-to-head with the Irish weather gods at the weekend and miraculously scored a dry, outdoor ceremony for the only 30 mins in the day when it wasn’t raining. They’re a force to be reckoned with alright!

Happy United Nation’s Mother’s Day!

I knew we were different in the UK in that we celebrate in March but I didn’t realise just how many alternative dates there are around the world and what inspired the national day of celebration.

In the UK our celebration in March is actually recognised as Mothering Sunday where families who relocated would return to worship at their home church where they were baptised.

In the US, a peace campaigner and doctor in the civil war, Anna Jarvis, sought to establish a day dedicated to mothers as a tribute to her late mother which became the first American Mother’s Day in 1908, and now the day the United Nations have set as the official International Mother’s Day.

In France, Fête des Mères, has its origins in a historical celebration of women’s equality, and post war women with large families were given medals for their efforts in restoring the population 🙌 (I always thought we deserved a medal for childbirth so nice one France!)

And in South Korea, they celebrate Parents Day together and honour their parents devotion and selfless efforts in raising their children...often with gifts of cosmetic surgery for parents who want to appear and feel younger again (curious, but OK).

So wherever you are in the world, if it’s your official day of celebration, then Happy freakin’ Mother’s Day, and for everyone else, celebrate anyway, as you can never show enough love to incredible women who do incredible things for their offspring, all day and every day.

Here’s a touching little moment between Alex and her mother on her wedding day…if that’s not the look of love and admiration then I don’t know what is. They’re both American so an extra special shout out for you pair of smashers today!

The best wedding photographers in the world are and an award from this body is generally considered the gold standard of the industry.

To pick up just one award is an absolute honour so I’m super happy (and just a little bit chuffed with myself) to join the ranks with 3 awards in the latest collection.

Thank you , the founder of this incredible organisation, and to all the judges for recognising my work amongst the best of the best. The biggest thanks has to go to my lovely couples for putting their faith in me to capture their incredible celebrations and allowing me the freedom to just do my thing. You’re the best!

People often ask me “what will we do for our couple photos if it rains?” or alternatively …”if it’s dark outside?”. Nay probelmo…I have tools in my kit bag and am more than confident creating my own light where none exists.

Here’s and Dan at the iconic Claridges where everyone wants a photo on the staircase. Lovely though it is, it’s pretty dark for a natural light portrait, but nothing a gridded flash can’t fix. So if you’re getting married in winter in particular, check whether your photographer is confident creating light.

The group photo that isn’t a group photo, that actually is the group photo.

It’s rare that I post a group photo on here, and not because I don’t take them or absolutely value them, just because it’s not what people tend to book me for or how I differentiate my work.

I have a system which means we’re well prepared in advance and can rattle through the organised family/group photos as quickly as possible so we can get you back to celebrating with your favourite people in a much more natural way. But, I keep shooting, as you’re gathering for the photo, as you’re posing for the photo and especially as you break up from the photo, to try catch the natural dynamic between you all, without your camera faces. Sometimes it’s a bit of a hot mess, and other times just a bit pedestrian, but occasionally you’ll get a little belter like this, you and your besties, larking around, just being you. And that’s the kind of group photo that makes my heart sing!

Only 1% of people can find the couple in this image…don’t you just love those thinly veiled click bait attempts. Well, shamelessly here’s mine! 😂

At the gorgeous Chateau De la Valouze] the sun sets, rather conveniently, directly behind the building and during dinner I noticed this gorgeous light spilling through every time someone opened one of the double doors and the idea for a cool little (very little) silhouette of Leona & Dene formed in my head.

However the other half of the door was firmly wedged shut…as locked as it could be. I needed the symmetry to make this image work but with the keys nowhere in sight and the light fading fast it felt my creative plans were about to be thwarted.

If anyone reading this knows me, I really, really don’t like to be defeated. With the help of the fabulous planner that is Robbie .wei14 we tracked down the manager in another part of the estate, located the key and got the other door open in the nick of time before the good light disappeared.

It’s not the most dramatic ‘I’ll move any mountains’ story but I remember feeling so chuffed we managed to make it, and that Leone and Dene have a beautiful environmental portrait to remember the majesty of this stunning venue.

Beautiful things come in all shapes and sizes and that includes weddings.

I love the fun and games of a big wedding but I also love the freedom, intimacy and complete authenticity that comes with an elopement. No-one to please but yourselves and all the time in the world to focus on each other and the enormity of the step you’ve just taken together.

Here’s 10 frames of Gemma & Alex doing it their way at the gorgeous spot on the west coast of Scotland that is at Crear.

A quick change into hiking boots, a wee dram to calm the nerves, and then a laughter filled walk down to the beach for what transpired to be one of the most emotional exchanges of vows I’ve had the honour to witness. There’s something magical about this place..maybe its the enchanting views, or the emotionally stirring sound of the bagpipes or both, but having photographed many, many weddings here, you can’t fail to be moved by the place or the people that come here to start the rest of their journey through life together.
