Our MP candidate for Reform UK - Derbyshire Dales will be visiting the village on Friday. Please contact him via his page if you'd like to talk to him about what YOU want to see happening locally and nationally. He'll be happy to say hello.

Interesting. There was once a tornado at Over Haddon and we saw our own trees in Taddington being twisted that day in the thunderstorm that spawned it. Weather to watch. 🙂

Wormhill WI would like to invite you to a talk and workshop on Thursday 1st Dec at 8pm in Wormhill Village Hall (SK17 8SL).

Linda Pelc, a very experienced local bell ringer and instructor, will be talking about bell ringing and bringing along handbells for us all to have a go at "ringing the changes" (like church bell ringing). There is a visitor fee of £4 ...unless you are a WI member, of course.

We do hope you can come. Please contact Felicity Dent if you have any questions (or need a lift).

It would be nice to know numbers, so please let Felicity know if you are coming!
Thank you ! Felicity.

A long shot I know…but last week we visited the flower festival (which was stunning, as ever one of the best) we enjoyed a lovely lunch & scrumptious cakes with my daughter & 2 grandchildren. We visited the white elephant stall & bought lots of stuff. Unfortunately the bag the lady kindly gave us had several holes. We had purchased a small gold coloured metal vets injection which must have fallen out somewhere within church grounds or church. Don’t suppose anyone has found it??? If so please call me & I will collect. Kind Regards Amanda 07513 472871

Buxton is holding its first Regency ball in 200 years in the Crescent Assembly Rooms on the 17th September 2022, as part of the Georgian Festival, to raise funds for the wonderful Buxton Town Team and Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust. Tickets are already selling, as this has been anticipated for a while. If you love dressing up and always wanted to be Elizabeth Bennett or Mr Darcy, this is your chance! There'll be Arlen Photography waiting at the door to take your photograph, music and a dance caller will be provided by Jack's Ramble (Devon's answer to the Warleggan Band) and the evening is to be topped off with a grand charity auction! Expect top hats (people are dusting them off already), fans, masks (the fun kind), Regency refreshments and much more! Please share this far and wide.

The bunting's up and we're finally into Taddington Platinum Jubilee Celebration week! Here are a few final updates, reminders and requests.

Queen's Jubilee Beacon: to be lit on Thursday 2nd June at 9.45pm.
Please help us by dropping off any dry, burnable wood at the quarry on Humphrey Gate.

Queen's Jubilee Service: 10am Sunday 5th June (the church).
Family service. Everyone welcome!

The Big Jubilee Picnic Lunch: starts 1pm Sunday 5th June (churchyard).
Please bring your own tables, chairs or picnic blankets.

Bring a gazebo if you have one! Rumour has it that the weather might be OK on Sunday but, just in case, it would be great to dot a few gazebos around the churchyard to provide shelter if needed. If you can lend one, could you please come and put it up during Sunday morning?

A free buffet is being laid on. We would love to supplement it with cake donations. All offers of cake are very welcome! Please contact Margaret Slack for details: [email protected]

Bring your own glasses for a jubilee toast. The Queen's Arms will also be running a bar in one of the marquees.

The Taddington Jubilee Bake-Off: judging at 4pm Sunday 5th June (churchyard)
Bake a cake fit for a Platinum Jubilee! Calling all Taddington bakers to enter the bake-off and maybe win a prize. Please contact Jennie Bradley ([email protected]) for details.

Kids' fun and games: from 2.30pm Sunday 5th June (churchyard).

Village photo: timing TBA, Sunday 5th June (churchyard).

Marquee set up finalisation: 2.00pm Thursday 2nd June (churchyard).
Able helpers needed to put the floors down and hang the marquee sides. Please pop over if you can spare an hour or so.
Thank you!!
