So after a busy bank holiday weekend, stuffed full of fabulous weddings, The Chaps team turn their attention to next Sunday's Wedding Fair at Reach Court Farm Weddings. If you're on the look out for a barn venue that will give you the freedom to create your day, exactly as you'd envisioned it, then pop along for a chat to owners Olly & James. The Chaps will be there from 11am til 3pm, proudly flying the flag for exciting and engaging wedding entertainment. See you there!

This week Paul, Ben and Andrew attended the SEDA Buzz annual DJ conference to hear new ideas, learn new skills and to network with other forward-thinking DJ’s. It’s always a privilege to share a room with a group of industry leading friends and colleagues and to share experiences and knowledge with them, we never stop learning!

The Wedding Chaps team are floating round the office this morning with an overwhelming sense of elation, gratitude and wooziness after last nights regional final of The Wedding Industry Awards at The Ravenswood. You could have knocked us down with a feather when our name was read out from the stage! The rest was a bit of a blur, but we’re fairly sure we were crowned DJs of the year 2024 for the whole of the South East. Come onnnnnn!!

Special thanks go to Damien, Anna and the team at 23 Events Ltd (the people behind the The Wedding Industry Awards) The Wedding Industry Awards for their hard work crafting an awards ceremony that truly does our great industry justice. The awards team have managed to nurture an atmosphere of collective celebration and positive energy on the awards nights that leaves the whole room celebrating each and every winner. It’s the dictionary definition of camaraderie!

To the other wedding professionals in the room last night, we salute you for being brave enough to put yourselves through the ringer and subject yourself to having the work you pour your heart and souls into, scrutinised by the TWIA judges.

We want to thank the gorgeous venues that give us such a warm welcome throughout the wedding season and the other great professionals we’re lucky enough to work alongside.

Most important of all we are so grateful for the love and support of the wonderful couples who entrust us to collaborate with them in creating something very special on their wedding day. Without their wedding day feedback, we would never have graced that stage last night.

Oh and a special mention to Iain’s tailor for making him look so damn good in that burgundy velvet jacket. It’s going to get another airing in January when we make the trip up to fancy London town for the TWIA national finals!

Our mission to put an end to dull, boring weddings continues apace.

However, it means just as much when a much loved venue that has seen us work on many occasions entrusts us with their reputation by recommending us to their couples. So we are both thankful and honoured here at Wedding Chaps HQ to have made the cut and become an officially recommended supplier to The Old Kent Barn. You guys rock, and we look forward to working with you going forward!

For the first time ever The Wedding Chaps have entered The Wedding Industry Awards 2024 and The Kent Wedding Awards 2024.

Ben, Harry, Iain and Paul are thrilled to announce that we have made it through to both finals!

We are usually so busy with work that we haven’t made the time to get involved in the past with these awards, but with more and more of our couples, venues, other wedding suppliers and DJ colleagues encouraging us to get involved, we did, and it has been such a valuable experience for us as a team. So big, big thanks to all of those that pushed us to do this.

We really do live the dream, working with the most wonderful couples, and as part of a team with so many talented wedding suppliers to make each couple’s day everything they have dreamed of, and just a little bit more.

Massive thanks to all of the couples that have trusted us to deliver over the past year (and beyond), and to all of the fantastic venues and suppliers that we have had the pleasure to work alongside.

Congratulations and good luck to all of our fellow finalists, and we will let you know how things go from here.
