Although the reality is that on a hot summer's day, your wedding guests may need to use all of these things plus more! So a way of extending your hospitality is to add vanity boxes into your bathrooms.

Not overscheduling your wedding day and allowing yourself breathing space is one piece of advice I always give to my clients.

Sharing this wonderful client love ...it was such a delight to work on this incredible wedding ❤️❤️.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

With a wedding weekend across multiple venues, we knew we needed an expert planner to help orchestrate on the day and bring our vision to life…

I researched many wedding planners and I knew that Emily was ‘the one’ within a few seconds of speaking on the phone. Unlike some of the other planners - who were keen to take a deposit asap and created a sense of urgency… Emily was quite the opposite. She asked logical questions which were helpful for the early stages of the planning. She instantly made me feel at ease.

And she didn’t put pressure on. In fact… When I mentioned about taking her full/multi day options she actually said she thought we had a clear enough vision and enough suppliers on board for us to go with her lighter planning option. Another sign that Emily really looks out for her client’s best interests…

About 2 months lead up to the wedding we had a series of life events which were pretty stressful (just life throwing lots of curveballs with unfortunate timing!) as a result I called Emily 6 weeks out pretty stressed and we kicked off the handover early… which was an immense weight off my shoulders and allowed me to balance everything in my life whilst staying sane for wedding prep. We were very grateful for this!

I like to think of Emily much like a wedding fairy godmother… with a little tap of her pen or sparkle of her smile she magically transforms challenges into solutions.

Emily is kind. She exudes a sense of humour and honesty much like an old and trusted family friend. And has a good initiative when it comes to working with people/timings/logistics.

Our wedding day was the happiest day of our lives. I had complete trust that Emily would make the best decisions for us on the day… so we didn’t have to think or worry about anything. I’m sure there were many things she was doing in the background / behind the scenes to make it feel this way but in our minds… our wedding was PERFECT.

Thank you Emily. Can’t recommend you enough.

Flowers 🌺 are such a beautiful part of any wedding décor.

But if your budget is tight, then decorating key focal points with statement installations will be a much better use of your finances, rather than spreading it thinly.

For example, why not consider a couple of big hanging installations or floral gantries in your marquee or tipi and then add minimal table decor for contrast and impact.

With last month on track to be the hottest June on record, it looks like we are going to be experiencing some hot weather weddings this summer. Especially if you are having an outdoor marquee/tipi wedding.

So, it's more important than ever to make sure you have your hot weather contingency plan (I do love a contingency plan!) in place.

From keeping your food chilled to making your guests feel comfortable, here's some top tips for cooling everything down when the temperatures soar.

⛱️ Install extra shade....add gazebos, hanging canopies/parasols/even sunglasses!
🚰 Hydration is super important..think ice-lollies, loads of cold water, cold beers plus ICE!
🧴 Lotions - provide emergency baskets of sun creams, insect repellent, body sprays.
☢️ Handheld fans are always welcome, plus cans of instant cooling face spray.
💦 Embrace the heat and add water into the mix, cooling footbaths, paddling pools, water fights (for the after party though!).
🍰 Cakes .. think about chilling, the timings and ingredients used.
🍹 Drinks - make sure your bar orders plenty of ice, ice and more ICE!
❄️ Food - speak to your caterers about timings and chilling facilities.
🌺 Flowers - look at low water consumption flowers and talk timings with your florist.
📸 Photos - it doesn't look great when everyone is squinting in the photos, so talk to your photographer about scheduling group shots for later in the day.

Marquees have radically improved over the last decade - there is so much choice. Quite often marquee venues are a bit or a marmite option but I usually find that's because people have had bad experiences of them being dated/cold/uncomfortable spaces. With a bit of know-how 🙋‍♀️, creativity and attention to detail they provide the most amazing blank canvas to have something so unique that your guests will never experience a 'bad' marquee!!

This stunner was from a client's wedding at their home last summer, that I fully planned. I love that we combined the clear roof over the dance floor with a clean and crisp colour pallet of creams, blacks and pale pink. A simple colour pallet instantly upgrades the marquee from a country garden style wedding to a chic, luxury wedding. What do you think?

Let’s talk RSVP’s 💌

Whether these are electronic or paper they serve a few purposes:
1. Allows the catering team to plan numbers for the wedding breakfast and evening food.
2. Allows the couple to firm up their budget and costs.
3. Kicks off the dreaded seating plan!
4. Gives the catering team foresight of any specific dietary requirements.
5. The final numbers give the couple time to confirm any hire order numbers - think seats, tables, linens, tableware.
6. Firms up final numbers for the bar, so any welcome drinks, toast drinks, evening cocktails etc
7. Starts the process for creating any On the Day stationery eg place names, menus, table numbers, table plans, signage, orders of service etc.
8. Confirms the seating plan (any reserved seating requirements) for the ceremony if needed.
9. Gives the venue an idea of transport volumes, parking, taxis etc so they can check they have the staff/signage/access in place for it all to run smoothly.

So my public service announcement this morning is: if you are lucky enough to receive a wedding invite, don’t be that guest who doesn’t read the invite details, doesn’t reply, doesn’t send their dietary requirements etc!! It really does help the stressed couple to get all their RSVP’s back by the date they need 🙏

The serious face 🧐 .. and the not so serious face 😁

You know I mean business when I'm looking like this 😆Deep in concentration with the cogs whirring in my head!!

But Hello! For those of you I've not met, I'm Emily and this is my little corner of the wedding world 💗 Based in Norfolk, I specialise in marquee and dry hire weddings across the East Anglian countryside. I love nothing more than a logistical challenge; transforming blank canvases and empty fields in fully functioning event spaces then sprinkling the pretty on top is what I do best.

So who are you, my clients? Well, usually lovers of incredible food, a great desire to share the best of this part of the world with their guests, you want an amazing experience for your guests, you don't want to over-spend but spending on things that will make a difference are important, you are busy with work, family and social lives, you know what you want but appreciate you don't have the know-how or time to get the best result, you don't want a cookie-cutter wedding day - you want to feel supported and to enjoy the wedding planning process with all your family. And that's where I come in, to guide and support, never to make decisions on your behalf -it's your money, you should spend it how you wish, I can only give you the benefit of my advice and expertise (which comes from a corporate career and then 11years of running my wedding business).

Happy anniversary to these two 💕

As a rule I don't often do winter weddings but I had helped Luke with his stunning proposal and when they needed some assistance with their final plans I was thrilled to be asked. It was so lovely to see them go from a couple, to an engaged couple and finally to Mr & Mrs!

Happy new year!! new beginnings, fresh ideas and some lovely new clients to begin working with.

It has been non-stop here - we finally moved house just before Christmas so to say things have been hectic has been an understatement 😆 We are still surrounded by boxes but the new washing machine arrives today so we will soon be surrounded by drying washing as well as the boxes but we will get there 🙈

Normal service will resume later this week but if you’re waiting for a reply from me do give me a nudge after the weekend if you’ve still not heard from me.

So here’s to a slightly calmer 2023 🤞🏻- I can’t wait to get cracking it’s going to be another stunner 🌟

Do any of you use What-three-words? I have recently discovered it - isn’t it clever?

I love the fact that a combination of three unique words pinpoints a specific location. I think the same can be true when you’re planning your wedding - I will often ask what words my clients would use to describe their wedding day vision. It really helps me understand them and their ideas better.

In fact I think it works for any part of your wedding day…..
🍽️ How would you describe your ideal wedding food? Eg 3-courses, seasonal, local.
💖 How do would you like your guest experience to be? Eg. Fun, welcoming, memorable.
🎀 What do you imagine your decor to be like? Eg. Classic, floral, elegant.

There is literally no limit to how you use this tool but I find it focuses your thoughts and brings clarity.
