Beloved hellebores for Valentine's Day.
14th February used to be thought of as the first day of Spring because it was the beginning of the birds' mating season 💕

Hellebores have a special place in my heart as they are one of the earliest flowers to appear in the garden. They may look fragile but they bloom on the coldest of days.
I read today that Saint Valentine is also the Patron Saint of Beekeepers. He kept bees himself and was known to talk to them and bless them with his prayers 🐝🐝

It's been a chilly start to the year 🥶 but I'm glad to be back out in the garden preparing flower beds and choosing seeds for this year's beautiful weddings 💕

Despite getting very soggy last week 💦 I had a lovely time preparing for this autumnal wedding. The flowers may be slowing down but there are still so many beautiful fruits of the season to be gathered.
