The sun is shining today, and I’m at home catching my breath after a very busy few days. I’m so happy to be lounging around, drinking coffee and editing away. I can’t tell you how nice this feels.

Me being me, it wont be long until I create myself a list of things to do at home alongside working but I do think little screen breaks are healthy so let’s go with it!

My 2025 diary is exactly where it should be for this time of the year. It’s shaping up to be another epic year!

I currently have a rather large (for me) editing queue, after some pretty busy weeks, so my focus is absolutely on getting these gorgeous moments off to their forever homes.

I still have a limited couple of dates left for this year, so if you are planning something more last minute, or would like to book in for a couple session, shoot me an email ([email protected]).

When the boys are a bit too enthusiastic about the task in hand ⚽️⚽️ but the girls understood the assignment 💃

I think it’s always nice to take a couple of minutes after the formal shots to have a bit of fun with your wedding party. Those who you have chosen for wedding party are typically your best friends or your closest family. They have been with you for the whole lead up to the big day, and I promise you their job doesn’t stop until the wedding is fully over (or the shots come out)! They love you so much and it’s so fun to see your personalities shine when you are with those that you feel most comfortable with.

A little instruction from me, and then they interrupt it as they wish! There is never a dull moment at great weddings!

If you are considering getting ready at your family home, here’s a few reasons why it’s a good idea:

- obviously it’s sentimental
- it might help you to feel more relaxed
- furry friends are usually welcome
- your parents can chill for more of the morning
- your belongings are left somewhere they can stay, no need to move this about (unlike checking out of hotel rooms)

I’m sure there’s a million reasons I’ve not mentioned. But if you’d prefer to be at your parent’s home, absolutely go for it.

Some moments of your day are full volume, but there’s absolutely moments of quiet too. The morning should be a relaxed and intimate time with your besties…

But, and there’s a but… there comes a point in the morning where things pick up speed and your suddenly thinking ‘wow I walk down the aisle in an hour’… that last hour goes in a click 🫰🏻

My advice would be to allow time once you are fully dressed for pics and moments with your wedding party and parents. Those precious final moments are some of the most important pictures of the day.

Brides Speeches 🎤

Everyone in your reception wants to hear from both partners when it comes to speeches. I love that more and more weddings have both of you speaking. Yeah it doesn’t have to be a particularly long speech, but isn’t it lovely to say your own thank yous, crack your own funny stories out and shout out your families stand out birthdays/anniversaries!

I’m here for it. If you are considering doing your own speech, absolutely go for it. Your guests will love it 🙌

Happy Bank Holiday 🫶🏼

I’m currently sat at the skate park with the boys cutting about, living their best life. This week is half term which is always a juggle, but it’s so lovely to have the boys at home!

I’m currently working on Sally & Phil’s gallery, with so many smiling faces I can’t wait to get this one to its forever home.

One more wedding in May to go for me, what an incredible month it’s been!

Why I love to capture morning prep through to dancing 🙌

- anyone that’s married will tell you how fast wedding days go, and I want you to remember as many details as possible

- getting there from morning preparations (usually 2 hours before the ceremony is a great start time) means your wedding party can get familiar with me and feel relaxed

- galleries are stories, there are lots of pivotal moments planned but I absolutely LOVE candids of those intimate and spontaneous moments too

- your wedding is more than the ceremony itself. It’s the build up and the memories after that you remember when you look back

- no one ever said ‘I’ve got too many photos’

Speeches 🫶🏼

I love the atmosphere of the room when the speeches are really bloody good. The laughs, the tears, the glances and connections people make. It’s really magical to witness.

The reception barn at is absolutely beautiful, it’s charming, rustic and you get an instant feeling of togetherness when you walk through the door.

I love shooting and venturing to their beautiful gardens for Elizabeth & Aidans pre-wedding session was so much fun.

Now that spring is in full swing, getting out in the fresh air for adventure sessions is absolutely one of the highlights of my week. Getting to spend time with you guys before the wedding day is so invaluable, I love getting to know more about you and capturing this fleeting time between the almost-wed to the newly-weds is an honour.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Larmer for looking after us, and I can’t wait to shoot 3 weddings here in May alone this year. How lucky am I?!

Don’t underestimate how much of a big deal your wedding will be for your parents (if you are lucky enough for them to attend your wedding 🫶🏼)

I think we can all sometimes take family for granted, and be so focused on getting things right for the day that we forget about celebrating and treasuring our fundamental relationships at our wedding.

When I got married a few years ago my number one focus was having the right people there. By right I mean our closest, most dearest friends and family. In reflection I didn’t put enough thought into what a big day it was for our parents, and now with over a hundred more weddings under my belt I’m really starting to get the gravity of what a momentous event it really is for them.

I hope one day as a parent I get to experience the pride and admiration I witness from the parents of my couples. Kate having such a beautiful relationship with her parents is absolutely evident throughout their gallery. It’s a beautiful thing to witness, and even more beautiful to have the opportunity to document it. I’d totally encourage little gifts to say thank you, first looks and reenacting any family traditions you might have that are special to you all.

P.s this has totally got me thinking of Father of the Bride from the 1991 movie 🍿love a good comedy!

Candids 📸

The best thing (in my opinion) about your gallery, is seeing all the authentic moments captured. You can appreciate beautiful wedding galleries with pretty couple shots and perfect pyjama poses but when you receive YOUR gallery, and see YOUR favourite people, something hits different.

Sometimes I feel like my job isn’t to look, it’s to see. It’s to see the smiles, the watery eyes, the little touches and cuddles. I want your gallery to be full of people, full of the details you’ve crafted for the day, but mostly a true reflection of how your day felt for you and your guests. Anyone can take a decent iPhone snap, but not everyone can tell a story.

The perfect socialising space 🫶🏼

I think a lot of couples have the debate between long tables or round. I think they both have pros and cons so there’s no clear choice, it’s just your personal preference.

The room at Primrose Hill Barn looks absolutely stunning set up in this style. You can absolutely still group people together in this long banquet style, just consider if you want to put the ‘naughty’ ones together or if it’s safer to break them up 😂

I also loved the little coffee area in this room, perfect for guests that are breastfeeding, or older relatives that just want a comfy space to sit and chat throughout the reception. This venue really has it all.

Planning a wedding for this summer?

Have you considered having your speeches outside?

I can’t recommend it enough. If the weathers beautiful and guests are enjoying chatting and drinking outdoors why not finish off your drinks reception with speeches before heading inside for your meal.

It honestly works so well, happy guests, happy photographers 🫶🏼📸

I think it’s important when shooting a wedding that you really work well with the team around you. Essentially we all want what’s best for our couples, but there’s something extra cool that happens when your suppliers just click, when their styles align and the magic happens ✨

How was this wedding in November?

We were blessed with the most beautiful weather (and light) I think I’ve ever had for a winter wedding.

Absolutely obsessed with this beautiful venue too, hoping to be back again soon!

Happy Valentines 💘

I hope you all take time today to celebrate your loved ones. Each year I always say I’m not massively into gifts but each time I seem to get a huge bunch of flowers and then I remember I actually love receiving flowers 😅 especially from my favourite flower shops.

Tonight I have a very glamorous dine in for 2 from m&s (I blame TikTok) and a movie planned 🍿

If it’s drizzly on your wedding day, don’t sweat it.

We live in the UK, and let’s be honest no matter what time of year you pick your date, there’s always the chance clouds might appear.

My advice is don’t sweat it. Have a plan A and a plan B that you love just as much so that no matter what happens, you’ll have your perfect day.
