It’s almost time!!!! See you all next week! I am really looking forward to sharing my supernatural adventures in Africa with you guys. I’ll be talking about African Cryptids, Aliens, Witchcraft, sacred places, and South Africa’s Supernatural police task force. You’ll also get a preview of my next book which includes the most haunted places in South Africa. I’ll be on stage on Thursday at 3pm, add it to your schedule and I’ll see you there!

I’ll also be teaching my healing herbs witchy workshop on Saturday from 12 pm - 1:30 pm.

In this 90-minute session, I’ll be sharing recipes, talking about my favourite natural herbs and ingredients and their magical and medicinal applications, including the making of healing balms, lozenges, potions and more!

Many people in the historical southern region of the United States opted to paint their outdoor porch ceilings a shade known as “haint blue” to deter flies and other insects such as wasps. The term “haint” is a variation of the word “haunt” - It was thought that this shade of sky-blue would not only repel insects but also keep ghosts from entering the homes. The blue hue mimics both water and sky, and local traditions held that evil spirits couldn’t cross over water, effectively preventing them from coming inside the house. The Sherwin-Williams paint company confirms this old southern custom of using “haint blue,” stating that it used to contain lye, which further deterred unwanted visitors. Modern paint no longer includes lye, but many people still strongly believe in the repellent properties of the blue color, insisting that it fends off both bugs and ghosts.

The Stanley Hotel’s spooky past is built on a combination of provable facts and events, and loads of evidence and speculation. There are hotel guests and staff accounts of hearing disembodied voices, being touched by something or someone they can’t see, and all manner of other strange and unexplainable occurrences.

The inspiration for Stephen King’s The Shining.

King and his wife (Tabatha) spent a few days at the Stanley towards the end of the season. They would be the only guests in the large hotel that night, and King recalled hearing the wind whistling outside the room. After a night at the restaurant and bar, the couple retired to Room 217.

In a lucid nightmare, the author dreamed of a coiled fire hose coming to life and chasing his screaming son as he ran down the halls of the hotel. After waking in a panic, King lit a cigarette and stared out the window. By the time he had finished the cigarette and gone back to bed, the rough outline of The Shining was fully formed in his mind.

Located on the intersection of Commercial Street and Fournier Street, The Ten Bells retains much of its original character since first opening its doors in 1752. Known as one of the most haunted pubs in London 👻

In 1976, the pub’s alleged ties to the infamous Jack the Ripper led the owner to rename it ‘The Jack the Ripper’ in an endeavor to boost popularity and revenue. However, after 12 years, the establishment reverted to its initial name and has been known as ‘The Ten Bells’ ever since.

One of the most infamous incidents in London crime history involves Jack the Ripper. Many believe that The Ten Bells was where he lay in wait for his inebriated victims.
