Sometimes nature and luck enables us to create a dish for the tour and tasting with ingredients of dreams. After catching lots of mackerel last weekend I cured some and pickled some and added the freshest simple ingredients from the garden - peas, white cucumber, tomato, radish, Thai basil and crispy fried courgettes, pulled together with a freshly made kewpie mayo. My kind of dish.

If you fancy breathing in an eclectic collection of songs with beautiful harmonies, come and see Lleisiau Preseli Voices concert with on Tuesday 9th in Canolfan Hermon. Singing with others or listening to communal harmonious singing is proven to improve mental wellbeing and release all the right happy stuff for the feel good factor. What else are you going to do on a Tuesday. This is definitely with missing that one yoga class for 😉

Our Cwm A***n (CARE) workshop for these tasty morsels on the 14th is full but there are still spaces on the repeat workshop on the 27th June. I absolutely love cooking alongside others. It's inherent to us as humans and is fantastic for our mental wellbeing.

The community meal project at Cwm A***n are funding workshops for the next few months. They are really good value. You can go to the Eventbrite address below to book onto one of the workshops on offer. This one is learning how to make Sweet Chilli Sauce two ways. Cooked and uncooked, to keep in your fridge. We are holding them at Ystwdio in Hermon because it's lovely 😊

An enormous dinner queue for the last Community meal at Canolfan Hermon. You people fill me with joy. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it happen. What a great community we have. This was such a joyous series of events last year, bringing so many different people together, old and young, at a time of year when we tend to withdraw to our homes permanently (especially in this silly weather). It offers community socialising without pressure, working together to cook, or clean up, or just be, side by side. Feedback and suggestions always welcome here. It provides a warm, welcoming space for anyone who needs it, provides reasonably priced high quality food for all, offering cash or card payments, and it is also there for people who are finding it hard to make ends meet for basic living costs, offering a pay what you can option. You don't have to say why you are there or if you can pay or not. We just really want people to know it is there, with open arms, for everyone in our near and wider community. Sometimes the hardest part is walking through the door. If that is something stopping you, get in touch, we can walk in together, unannounced 😊
