In honour of the arrival of the first day of Spring I have hand made a wreath using willow. A hint of yellow forsythia has been added with a complimentary colour using muscari. Foliage was sustainably foraged, most came from my garden.

French poet, Victor Hugo wrote "Life is the flower for which love is the honey." He also said "Life's great happiness is to be convinced we are loved." This was made for a friend, it is so important to share love with people you care about. Happy Valentine's Day.

February is recognised as the month of love with Valentine's Day on 14th but where did it originate from?
Valentine's Day has a long history, Lupercalia was a Roman fertility festival held on February 13th to 15th.
Pope Gelasius turned the festival into a day of love in the 5th century.
By the 15th century valentine was used to describe a lover in poems.
Wherever it originates from it is a special day to show people how much you love them.
These days it is often celebrated by buying flowers, chocolates or perfume for someone you love.
With the current situation don't just wait until February 14th to spread some love, spread a little love every day and bring a smile to the face of someone dear to you.
