Once upon a time is the framing for this fairytale wedding. Jess’s dad gave a wonderful speech highlighting the joy of becoming a father and the eventual difficulty of giving her away on her wedding day.

If you can’t be soppy on your wedding day when can you be?
Sam raises a great point in his speech and I think it applies across the board on a wedding day. There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing a weeping father or an emotional best man. Honestly guys just let it out, it’s cool to cry, to show some emotion…. And it makes my wedding films that much better 😜
So I’m currently ploughing through what could be the busiest few weeks of my life. A house move in the middle of peak wedding season was not the smartest of ideas! I am however still working away whenever I can so don’t worry your films will still get to you in good time 🙂

MICRO WEDDING!
So you may have noticed that for the past month I’ve been relentlessly posting teaser after teaser. That’s because I have been filming so many wonderful weddings, I’m actually at one now so I’ll make this brief!
At the beginning of the madness Vina and Rafael invited me along to their beautiful micro wedding at the Royal Berkshire Hotel. They had friends and family travel from around the world to celebrate with them. The speeches were emotional to say the least, even the cake was in tears…. 👀🤦🏼♂️😂 sorry not sorry.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY JOB!
I have the honour of meeting some truly incredible people through weddings, people who inspire me and leave a lasting impact on my life. Summer and Jacob did exactly that, despite all of the adversity they have faced they are the most joyful couple I have ever laid my camera on.

I’M ON A BOAT!
Okay so I’m not currently on a boat but I was for a little while during Alice and James’ wedding. Everyone knows that the fastest way to travel in London is by boat* so that’s what we did. After the beautiful church ceremony the guests and myself hopped on a ferry which trundled us down the river Thames to @hch.events and from there on out it was plain sailing (not sure that pun really works but I couldn’t resist).
Massive thanks to Alice and James for inviting me along to capture their special day, I had a thoroughly exciting day! Big shoutout to @joshua_gooding photography who made for good company and endured my terrible jokes all day.

Laura and Steve’s wedding came at a perfect time for me. It’s a time in my life where I am preparing to become a father for the first time. A time when all of my priorities will shift away from any personal goals or desires and onto assuring that I offer my child and family the support they need as we begin our life as a family together.
Laura and Steve’s children play such an important part of their wedding film. The shots of Elena watching in awe as her mom gets into her wedding dress and Henry’s excitement as he sees her appear from her wedding car are moments I’m sure the whole family will appreciate forever.

EMILY + CHRIS (PART 2)
If you watch a lot of my films (and why wouldn’t you, they are bloody great) you may recognise Emily + Chris. That is because back in 2020 they invited me along to film their micro wedding. Now I know what you’re thinking, They invited you to two weddings? Are they mad? Yes, yes they are.
Their last wedding produced one of the most tearjerking speeches I have ever seen. This time around we have a lighthearted retelling of how they met, dashed with a sprinkling of Chris’s classic ‘heart on sleeve’ outpouring of emotion.
I really enjoyed putting this together for you @ecjbrooke + @chris.brooke and there were talks of a ten year engagement wine opening party so who knows maybe we’ll go for it a third time 😜

TO ENGLAND, LOVE FROM USA.
I remember the first time I hopped onto a video call with Lucia and Carl. It was around 8pm and raining outside, you can therefore imagine my surprise when they were sat against a backdrop of blue skies and palm trees! This is when I learned that they lived in California and were travelling all the way to England to tie the knot. Now I’m not sure they understood a word I said through my thick brummie accent during the call, but they booked me anyway and I’m so glad they did!
Lucia and Carl had the most fun filled wedding day with family and friends from across the globe. There are also some really emotional speeches in this one so have the tissues at the ready 🥺

EMOTIONAL GROOM REACTION!
If I were to guess I would say that the moment a bride looks forward to most on her wedding day is seeing her grooms reaction as he sees her in her dress for the first time walking down the aisle. Correct me if I’m wrong ladies.
Anyway Alex (or Tonk as he’s known to most) did not disappoint Rosie with his reaction. It may have been because I have known them both personally for a long time but that moment felt super emotional. I found myself struggling to keep it together and hold my camera straight as it all unfolded.
Rosie + Tonk you smashed it! The day was beautiful and the night was ‘poppin’ (young people’s lingo for ‘a good time’ I believe). Thank you for letting me be a part of your day, it was truly an honour.

DESTINATION WEDDING!
I’m so lucky that my job takes me to such wonderful places. Not only have I traveled the length and breadth of the UK but I’ve also jetted off to some amazing locations around the world.
Sarah and Ciaran flew me out to Bordeaux to see some of the stunning sights and soak up some of the world renowned wine 🍷 oh and film their wedding, almost forgot about that 👀
Seriously though the people involved in this wedding were so lovely that it could have been held anywhere and still been super special. Their day was filled to the brim with emotion! Just as soon as the teary eyes had dried up from the beautiful, unique ceremony they were back to being filled with tears again by the emotional speeches. This entire day could have been lifted from a Hollywood rom com.

I HANG OFF THE BACK OF A CAR …. AGAIN.
Okay so I really should have started this post with something along the lines of EMOTIONAL BRIDE SPEECH but here I am being all self indulgent and harping on about how I hung off the back of a car for the second time this wedding season 🤦🏼♂️
Okay so focus back on the wedding, it was amazing! Lauren and Rob attended a wedding I filmed years ago (shout out @ellymayhorton ) so it was great seeing a bunch of familiar faces and I knew going in that I was going to have a blast!
As I’ve mentioned Lauren pulled off an incredible speech, it’s not often a bride takes the mic but when they do it’s always special! We also got a killer sunset which really topped off a brilliant day.

RUSTIC WEDDING VIBES!
Rustic wedding… what does this strange wedding buzz phrase even mean. Quite frankly I have no idea. I’m just the videographer people, I point my camera at pretty things and cross my fingers hoping that I’ve pressed record 😂
In all seriousness though this wedding is gorgeous! The perfect edit for me to drop back into after a short break from the wedding world.
Everything about this wedding seemed really intimate and personal. From the magical woodland setting to the beautiful personal vows. Even the band was a unique personal touch as the groom was lead guitarist! Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day guys, it was a cracking day and an honour to be involved ❤️

BEAUTIFUL FATHER OF THE BRIDE SPEECH!
Ok so this may be an excerpt from a poem but it is nonetheless beautiful and a perfect fit for a wedding speech. It highlights the importance of relationships with other people around us. Most of us won’t be lucky enough to leave a lasting imprint on the world we live in but what we can all do is have a positive impact on the lives of the people around us.
It was clear to see that Helene and Gareth had made such an impact on so many people around them. Their day was filled with love, laughter and a sprinkling of tears (all happy tears).
Also worth mentioning is that this wedding looked like a styled shoot. It was honestly one of the most visually stunning weddings I have been to. The venue, design team and of course the bride and groom did an amazing job of bringing this all together to create an incredible backdrop for a lovely day.

MICRO WEDDING
Throughout lockdown I was fortunate enough to film some beautiful, intimate micro weddings. When the country opened up and the wedding industry followed suite I was obviously overjoyed to be filming full sized weddings again, yet a part of me missed the micro wedding. These small micro weddings allowed me to embed into the wedding like never before, and get to know each and every guest.
Well I’m so happy to say that it looks like micro weddings are here to stay! This was filmed well out of lockdown but the small scale intimacy as opposed to large scale grandeur suited Wendy & Chris to a tee. They married in front of ten guests at The Priests House in North Yorkshire. After the ceremony we went for a lovely stroll next to their favourite river in the Yorkshire Dales.
