I discovered origami back in 2015 and quickly realised how satisfying it is. I especially enjoyed creating flowers which I could give as gifts. My confidence grew as my folding skills developed and friends suggested I should think about selling my creations. I took the leap into business in 2016 by setting up Origami Blooms as a page. I currently have shops on the British Craft House, Ets

y, and my newest one on Not On The High Street. I have expanded into weddings and I really enjoy creating bespoke flowers and decorations for happy couples! I'm passionate about sharing my love of origami and I love connecting with you here 🥰

It's the Secret Garden craft fair in Sherwood on Saturday and it's my first time 🤩

I'll have all the usual origami blooms with me but I'm planning to bring one of my ✨WOW✨ creations too. These take more time to fold so I'll need to get on it asap..

What a way to start teaching origami again!!! 🫶

Today I spent a lovely few hours with NHS staff at the cardiac unit at City Hospital, teaching them how to make origami flowers. Each small group chose whether to fold traditional origami tulips or lilies and they all did so well - I mean, look at the stunning bunch of flowers they created! 🤩💐🤯

I hear the bouquet is going to live in the relatives room and I love that so much - the staff have enjoyed a mindful half hour during their busy shift AND created something very beautiful for everyone who visits the cardiac unit 😍

It's so special that this is my first teaching experience since 2020.. because my Dad was cared for at this hospital and I am eternally grateful. It's nice to be able to give back in a small way 🩷

Who here loves a sunflower?? 🌻

Last weekend's event went well with the lovely people of Gedling choosing a variety of origami:
🌷Tulips were the bestselling blooms, closely followed by cacti 🌵 and garlands of hearts 💕

I transform simple squares of recycled paper into blooming gorgeous origami flowers, plants and decorations. Please forgive me 🙏

When I rushed to make my website live before starting jury service this week, I didn't quite realise the consequences

A couple of people have got in touch to say they can't find what they're looking for. Cacti and single stem roses to be specific. Oops, my bad 🤦‍♀️

I hadn't added them yet because it felt too complicated with so many colour options...
even though they are my consistent best sellers and OF COURSE you would be looking for them!?!!?!

I've got custom orders coming out my ears!! 🫨
(What does that phrase even mean anyway?!)

I can't show you much at the mo until all the bespoke bouquets I'm folding have made it to their new homes!

So, here's a reminder of a gorgeous collaboration with a bride-to-be from last summer: my origami lilies, peonies, star flowers, leaves and roses folded from music sheets, combined with roses that she'd made from hand-dyed wood shavings 💐

What a stunner eh!!!

Do you feel a connection with rainbows? Settle in, I have a story for you:

Last week I went for my usual lake swim with friends on a particularly stormy day. It started spitting as we got changed on the muddy bank and we could see proper rain coming across the lake towards us. We debated not getting in but you know, once you're wet you're wet 💦

It turned into torrential rain as we swam further out. The kind of rain that bounces off the surface and comes back up to hit you in the eye 😅 Bit of a challenging swim but we persevered. I'm so glad we did.

Towards the end of our second loop, the rain suddenly eased and the sun broke through the clouds. Behind us, the Biggest Brightest DOUBLE RAINBOW appeared over our lake!!

All three of us whooped with joy! Honestly, it gave me the biggest boost I've felt in ages 😍 we floated on our backs and the rainbow stayed with us, getting brighter and even more beautiful. It felt like our reward for swimming despite the storm - like it had appeared just for us 🥹🥰

Might sound silly but that's the most profound feeling of joy I've had in a long time. And to experience it in wild nature with two of my closest friends.. it was THE BEST. We didn't stop talking about it all through dinner!

🪷 the peony is such a versatile flower 🪷

CUSTOM ORDER
I received a request for origami flowers that could hold LED candles and be released to float across water during a celebration of life ceremony for a young woman 💕

This brilliant idea came from her best friend 😍

She wanted to give everlasting flowers to her friend's husband and children which could also be used during the ceremony to signify the release of her spirit into nature. And they were to be very particular colours, her friend's favourites.

I was determined to help her achieve this vision!

Seeking Spring?

Here it keeps appearing with sunshine, flowers and birdsong 🌞🪻🐦‍⬛.then vanishes the very next day under dark rain clouds with bonus hail and high winds!! ☔🌬️🌪️

🌷 I'm sending plenty of everlasting origami tulips out into the world at the mo, so I'm guessing it's the same confusing weather elsewhere! According to that meme I keep seeing, I reckon we're in 3rd Winter so got everything crossed for actual Spring to happen soon 🤞

FAQ: do your flowers survive the postal service?

😁 YES!!!
I send my origami blooms all over the world and they arrive in perfect condition 🌻

Within the UK, I use Royal Mail's Tracked 24 service. This means your parcel will arrive the day after I post it and you'll have a tracking number in case you need to give your postie delivery instructions eg. in case you're going to be out.

I always package your flowers and plants in sturdy double-wall cardboard boxes to ensure they are delivered to you in tip top condition 👌

All that peace of mind for just £5.50 p+p 💝

Happy *PAPER* Anniversary 🥳
To Amber - congratulations on your first wedding anniversary!

We had a personal consultation for Amber's wedding flowers as she lives nearby, so she popped round to choose the exact paper colours for her bridal bouquet and her daughter's matching flower girl posy. She sent me photos of her dress and shoes too, so I could refer to them while creating her blooms; that's where I got my inspiration for the metallic bronze flowers and thistles ✨🤎

And this was the result: a set of completely unique origami wedding flowers tailored to my beautiful bride's amazing sense of style 😍🌼🧡🌿

🎁 Cat in a box - it's a classic 😺

This is C H I N O 🐈 our family's new addition

He's NOT named after the 80's gentleman's slacks, as my brother suggested 😂
He has swirls and stripes which reminded us of the patterns on top of fancy coffee! His nickname currently is Babyccino but I reckon he's going to grow into a biggun. He's settled in very well and is already trying to help me with the origami - check out his massive paws! 🐾

He was rehomed from Battersea cats and dogs home by a family member who then discovered she's allergic to him 😢 so we made a flying visit to London and brought him home to live with us 😻

We're in love 🧡
