How is everyone doing? Hope you are all keeping well and keeping at this running malarkey 😆
Still have my trailer sat on my drive which keeps calling and waving to me.
Lots going on as my 91 year old mum is very poorly in hospital since Dec so driving 80 miles most days to visit. Kids mostly grown up and Jason still working long hours. Getting my running, well walking head back on tomorrow after being lazy for too long. Half 51 so may well just have to reach 100 now.
Anyway hope you are all keeping well and achieving whatever goals you set x

Hope you all had a good Christmas and Happy New Year.
Apologies long post coming.

It is with deepest regret that we have decided to finish hosting of our wonderful events, and felt we should share this with you in a personal post.

What started off in 2018, after beginning running myself, I never imagined to blossom into the amazing family and events that followed in the next 4 years.
Despite a few hiccups of Covid and the broken hip, our events grew and we met some truly remarkable people and made some amazing friends. It became a hobby with a bit of profit thrown in.
It was never really about the money, it came from our love of the sport. We still have that adoration for runners but circumstances both economically and personally have led us to make this decision.
I've put off writing this post for quite a while and have deleted, added for the last hour or so trying to find the right words.

I loved our events, and to not do them anymore is heartbreaking.

The economy is hitting everyone. Prices have shot up and in order for us to continue with events we would have to raise prices and cut back on lots of the extras we always provided. Venues are getting more expensive and rules and regulations ever changing creating new obstacles.

Personally weekends prove more tricky. My mum at 91 and having fallen a few weeks ago is still in hospital and looking at more support from myself and my brother. Living an hour away from her makes this tricky.
Our 3 children, who always did so much at the events, are nearly all grown up with their own lives,jobs etc. Jason worked away the last year making weekends precious time and difficult to host events as they take up so much time on a weekend. His job is more local now, but long hours on physical labour, makes weekend recovery more important.

I want to thank you all for putting your faith and trust in us over the years, even when I may have slightly fibbed about hills 😂 Thank you to all that marshalled and supported in so many ways.
I've made the most wonderful friends and been inspired more than I can ever tell you.
I am hoping that we can sell the business and that someone else will take up the events and provide something similar. I'll be more than happy to support whoever this may be. We have a huge trailer full of equipment plus all the contacts and know how. I'd love to see more events in Wales to support you all on your running journeys.

Again Jason and I thank you for your loyalty, support, friendship,fun and some truly awesome running. We hope we have helped you on your journeys' and hopefully not put too many off a small hill or two ☺

We wish you all every success for the future and hope life continues to be good to you. I'm sure we shall see some of you out and about when I shift my lazy bum and get running again properly.

Just touching base with you all. Hope everyone is well. Still plenty of virtual medals available on our website. Just sign up and message us when you have completed.
Still mulling things over but currently no plans to host anything in 2023.

Bit further towards London are Saturn and Phoenix.

Met office says dry Sunday morning. BBC says wet lol
Path is dry bar one puddle at the top of the field. The grass between the sheepsies may become a little wetter after lots of people have trampled it, but overall conditions underfoot are great

I took my trundle for a walk and it was bang on 5km on this undulating, OK maybe it's hilly 😂 course.
You won't get any more accurate than via trundle.
Please note that watches often mislead, and depending on exactly where you run, it may record longer or shorter.
Whatever you do, it's a beautiful loop and has a fabulous 1 mile downhill at the end of the lap.

Margam looking beautiful today.
Here's the course description
Head out turn left at the junction
Follow path around then to the right
At the field turn right
Run across the top the turn left down passed the donkeys
Turn left up the middle of the field then right at the top
Pass the Discovery Centre, park and head to castle
Turn to the right and pass through a gate.
Next right up the steep hill and follow the path to the left up the mountain.
Keep on the path for stunning views
Follow this path until you see a true on the right
1 mile all downhill before a left turn at the junction
Next left for a loop around the archery field passed the deer.
Straight across through the gate and back left to the start
Clear as mud lol

1000 day streak!

Huge congratulations to our most local supporter Craig Thomas who completed day 1000 of a streak. So we helped with a little celebration with his wife Tricia. He's been a fixture running passed our house every day for the last 1000 days. Amazing achievement. Here's to 2000 😆
