do you hate having your photo taken?

this is the most common concern people express to me before they book, and this bride Louise was no exception!

I always say that it’s not your job to be photogenic.
it’s my job to make sure you feel comfortable, and to bring the best out in you.

having your photo taken isn’t something you do every day, you’re going to feel somewhat awkward, apprehensive and worry about what to do with your hands and “why is my face doing this weird smile”

but honestly, I get the most natural looking photos by constantly talking to you, getting you to tell me your stories, I might (read: always) say the odd inappropriate comment and I continue to take photos way past that awkward stage.

by the end of the day you won’t even think twice about me taking the photos, you’ll be so used to it that, dare I say it, you’ll even start to like it!

I know you probs don’t believe me right now but trust me, it always happens 😄🫶🏻

The most beautiful love story.

Aimee and Sean had their wedding at the beautiful black barn of Crumplebury in Worcestershire which was honestly one of the most stunning venues I’ve ever seen.

They also agreed on a name that they both changed their surname to, and then announced it after the ceremony. I thought that was one of the best things I’d ever heard of! 🖤🤍🧡

Can I ask you something? 🤔

Have you ever considered having a family photoshoot at home?

I’m guessing probably not, and if I weren’t a photographer I wouldn’t either! I’d probably wonder why anyone would want to invite someone in to take photos while their house is a mess, there’s a huge pile dirty washing and you’ve not managed to have a shower for longer than 5 minutes in weeks.

Please, let me convince you that all those things are exactly the reason why these types of photos are even more beautiful.
They’re raw, authentic, full of love.
They tell a story.
They have the ability to transport you back to that exact moment in your life once it’s passed by.
You’ll again be able to smell the baby powder, hear the favourite nursery rhyme and feel the soft baby skin.

You won’t care what you looked like, that there was a sink full of washing up or that your shoulder had sick stains on it.

You’ll look back and remember the moments so fondly, you’ll be able to retell so many stories from one photo.

That’s why you should have some family photos at home.
The place where you brought the baby home to.
The place that has the chair you always sat in for the afternoon nap.
The place where your baby learnt to walk.
The place where you all feel safe, comfortable, YOU.

There’s so much beauty in the chaos and I feel so unbelievably privileged to be invited in to preserve these moments for so many families 🥹

Zoe is a breathwork and sound healing goddess. Not only that, but she’s one of the most beautiful souls I think I’ve ever met and has the most incredible outlook on life. She’s fully living in her truth and it’s magical.

That’s one of the amazing things about doing this - i get to shine a light on the most vulnerable yet most powerful parts of each woman and it’s so inspiring!

if I said Isabella is one of those special sort of souls, it would be an understatement

whilst she was having her make up done, I asked her what she wanted to convey in her photos and as she added some extra gold sparkles to the sides of her eyes she looked at me and said

“a wild, powerful, feminine energy”

and she really meant it.

her work is a mix of her two sides - the professional and the wild, both equally as powerful as each other

she brought along things that were important to her;

cacao
scarves
spices
drum
symbols
sheepskin

and two changes of clothes that portrayed those two sides

as we were shooting I told her what a beautiful force of a woman she was and she said she was just learning

she didn’t look like a woman that was learning

she looked like a woman that had fully unleashed her truth -

the one that holds the wisdom not just of this lifetime but of ancient ones gone by

that’s is what’s so powerful about a shoot like this

a selfie just doesn’t convey the same energy or power

they’re not just photos, they’re stories to be told and energies to be conveyed

I started filming around 4 years ago when I had my first son, and haven’t put a camera down since. Filming him growing up showed me how so many of life’s precious memories are in the every day and I love capturing them on film to be able to look back on. This gave me the passion to capture precious moments and tell the story of others through my eyes. I understand that a film of a special occasion, such as a wedding, is something that you will watch over and over again to relive the memories and I pride myself on capturing each moment as I know that even the smallest memory can be precious.

​I absolutely love capturing love in its most raw and natural form, and when is it more prominent than on your wedding day? My discrete style of filming means that I capture true, natural emotion in order to recreate the true spirit of your day for you to look back on and cherish forever.
