Hey everyone ๐ I'm back, and so are the flowers!
The last year has been an interesting one for me health wise, and I've had to make a lot of changes to my lifestyle and the business as a result.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder type 2 last year, which was a great relief as I've struggled with my mental health since adolescence, so it was fantastic to finally have a diagnosis. I decided to scale back the business so I could work part-time and learn how to manage this condition. Then, after learning everything I could about it and seeing a bipolar specialist, they confirmed that it was a misdiagnosis!
However, I'm not back to square one as such, as I think I've figured out what has been causing all my issues, but I'm still awaiting testing so can't say for sure at this point, but it's not bipolar 2.
In the meantime, I've been learning everything I can and following specific advice, which has been helping so much! I've learnt that routine is incredibly important for me, as well as limiting stress, using noise cancelling headphones, allowing myself time to recover and recharge, and spending more time doing things that recharge my soul -
I've also been trying to figure out what I really want for my life, and for the business, free of the expectations of others and society, free of comparisons or thinking about what I "should" be doing. When I started the business, I wanted to do anything and everything, and I've learnt that just because you're good at something, it doesn't mean that thing is good for you!
This year, I will continue to work part-time. Bunches of flowers will be sold in the honesty stall on weekends, and gift bouquets will be available for delivery on Thurs & Fri. I'm also growing lots of veg this year, which I hope to sell in the honesty stall or by direct order. I might run some workshops too, but that will be decided in time.
The business will be officially reopening in mid-April, but I'll be restocking the honesty stall before then.
