Congratulations to Mike & Katie who were married on 13th July! 💍

I absolutely LOVED making this topper... Katie's dress is absolutely stunning!

Originally they wanted their 2 cats on the topper with them but unfortunately they sadly lost one a few months before the wedding so decided it would be nice to honour Ellie with little angel wings at their feet and add in their current cats Peggy and Ginny too. 🥰

Happy Monday everyone! Something a little different today... 🦕🦖

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Garrett who were married on 10th July! They wanted cute dinosaurs, a T-Rex Groom and a Triceratops Bride on a grey coloured base alongside purple gems and rocks.

I love how this topper looks and just shows that not all bases for wedding toppers need to be white. The grey base makes the dinosaurs stand out and I think they look like the friendliest dinosaurs ever! 🥰

🎶 Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away! 🎶

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Brennan who were married on the 6th July! 🥳

They came to me with a unique idea to include flying somehow into their topper and this is what we came up with! The couple are sitting in their very own Captain and First Officer plane seats and taking hold of the controls!

This was a fun topper to make and I really enjoyed the problem solving aspect of this topper. 🙂

This week alone I have had 5 toppers due this week so I can't wait to share these with you over the next few days.

🎶 Guess who's back?! 🎶

Happy July to you! I meant to post this yesterday but my wee one decided to keep me busy yesterday with his antics instead! 🙈

I'm now back from my maternity leave HOWEVER... I am still only working on my business part time as I will be back full time at my day job in August so I will only be able to check and respond to emails a few times a week. I have updated my automated message on social media with all this info.

I have lots to share with you and some exciting new projects in the pipeline for later in the year! But first I am having a quiet moment whilst my boy naps and before I work to my next deadline due in a few weeks.

Roll on my busiest July yet... It feels like I never left!

I'm a tad late on posting this topper but many congratulations to Ross and Morag who were married at the end of March in Fort William.

This topper was a lovely one to make with the couple standing together with their adorable bunny rabbits at their feet. (Can we take a moment to appreciate all the gorgeous detail on Morag's dress?!) I even made a mini version of Ross' wee Scotty dog, Callie, who sat proud as punch on one of the lower tiers of the cake! 🥰

How lovely are the photos of the couple seeing the topper on the cake?! Also big shout out to Cakes by Sandra for such a stunning cake! 😍

For the first time in a few years I'm not exhibiting at this weekend! I'm gutted not to be meeting all the lovely engaged couples but I'm still on maternity leave and will be spending my weekend with my little man (and working on my current topper when he is sleeping!) 🥰

Hopefully I'll be back next year, bigger and better than before! 🫶🏻

Happy May 1st! Lots to do and so little time!

I've spent the last few weeks run ragged with boy (which I absolutely LOVE!) as well as trying to sort business admin, order supplies, and make a start to July toppers... (yes you heard that right!) all when he is napping during the days! 🤣

Today's theme is "Product Story."

I always get asked how I started making toppers and it all starts with my little pug called Monty. 🐶

Monty is super special as he is completely blind. He has no eyes as he sadly lost them when he was 1. When planning my own wedding, I scoured the Internet looking for a pug topper that looked like him (with his cute scrunched up grumpy face and no eyes) but couldn't find anything that looked like him. So i decided to buy some clay and make a mini model of him. Thanks to him... Allsorts Clay was born!

I plan to make a bigger version of him in the future as my style has changed since I made him way back in 2019 but the first mini model of him that I made will always have a special place in my heart 🥰

Today's post is all about being "Positive."

I don't know how it has happened but I've messed up my daily posts so I am a day behind! 🙈 so I'll use the free weekend posts to catch up!

So today let's talk all about "Details!"

I am such a perfectionist so I try my best to get dresses, kilts and flowers as close to the originals as possible! Tattoos and tartans are hand painted on and even individual hair strands and fur on pets are rolled from tiny pieces of clay!

Today's theme for is "Day in the life of".

I will admit that I had grand plans for this post but forgot to record little snippets of my day 🙈.

A normal day for me at the moment is -

- get up, feed my son and have cuddle with him, the dog whilst watching MAFSAU with a coffee in hand!

- spend most of the day with my son and completing household tasks when he is napping.

- working late into the evening working on toppers and doing buisness admin once he goes to bed.

- Go to bed myself and repeat this cycle the next day!

My days are drastically different to how they were this time last year but I wouldn't change it for the world! 🙂

Day 19 of and today's prompt is "Gifting Ideas."

Did you know that although my main focus is toppers for wedding, I also make toppers for all occasions?!

I've went and forgot to post all weekend again 😬🙈 but those were "free posts" so we will just say that this was a little weekend break for me from social media 😅

Today's prompt is "process." This post has taken me a while to think about what I wanted to write. I don't want to give away all my creative process secrets but wanted to show a visual example of how I work from a 2D photograph and make it into a 3D model.

As part of my creative process, I will start by emailing you 6/7 weeks in advance of your event date and send you a checklist of photographs I require. This allows me to capture every detail perfectly and the more photos I have... the better! Sometimes clients want to see a visual mock up design of the topper so I can offer an initial sketch to come up with ideas / allow the client to visualise their topper. Once photos have been received, i get to work sculpting!

So yesterday I forgot to do my daily post 🙈 but I’m surprised that I managed to get through nearly half the month before forgetting! 😂

So yesterday’s theme was “Challenge” and today is a free day so I thought I’d share one of my most challenging toppers I have made to date, but also one of my favourite toppers!

I love it when a client comes to me with an idea and I need to use my problem solving skills to make it into a reality!

My lovely friends wanted a Doctor Who themed topper and it was only fitting that I had to make a Tardis! You’d be surprised at how challenging this design was even though it was a simple concept.

First, I had to make sure the thickness of each panel of the Tardis was the same. Then I had to try mould each panel together to make it sturdy and hold its shape. I also had to make sure each panel was the same width and height… so many calculations for a girl who sucks at Maths! 😂

Thankfully the Tardis worked (even though it was a bit wonky in some places!) and the Bride and Groom loved it! Another themed topper which is on my favourite topper list!

Day 14 of and we are talking about “Collection”

I love animals but I am such a dog person. Those who know me will say that I’m “dug daft!” 😂 My pet Pug, Monty, is my fur baby and can’t imagine my life without him so when a client gets in touch and wants a pet portrait… I’m more than happy to oblige!

Today’s theme for is “Signature Style.”

Every topper I make is made without moulds (something which I am very proud of and sets me apart from other creators). This means that every topper is totally unique. However, I do have a set style which I make sure to show in every creation.

1. I like to create simplistic, cartoon-like, soft expressions on people’s faces.

2. On wedding toppers, the bride is always on left and groom on the right… I have no idea why!

3. All bride and grooms have linked arms - UNLESS a clients asks for something different.

4. I like silver lettering around the base with the couples names and wedding date.

So no matter what is on the topper, my signature style shines through! 😊

Day 12 of and today's post is "Focus & Priorites."

I must admit that I did struggle to write this post. My focus and priorities has shifted massively since the arrival of my baby in November.

I've had to put my business on the back burner as I adjust to being a mum. My days are spent looking after him and I can only really dedicate time to my business when I am sure he is napping (and once the household duties have been done for the day!). I worry about upcoming deadlines and whether I will meet them.

My focus for the next few months is to try and do a few toppers early to help me at times when I am fully booked. 🤞🏻 if my son allows it! 😅

Day 9 of and its another weekend "free" post so I thought I would share a brilliant topper from last weekend!

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs McBlane, who wanted a Still Game themed topper! They wanted themselves arm in arm with their favourite beverages in one hand and a collection of props from their favourite TV show... teacakes, a bottle of Midori, some Beefy Bakes and the altered book that Winston gave to Tam! 🤣📖💩

I also love the fact that I had to watch certain episodes of Still Game for "research purposes!" Definitely one of my favourite toppers I have made so far this year!

In the words of Jack and Victor... "Two pints p***k!" 🤣

I'm a bit late posting tonight but today's prompt is "My Brand."

Allsorts Clay was born from the idea that I was creating different types of toppers for different occasions and making these from polymer clay which lasts forever.

I had some help designing my logo which helps capture the quirkiness of my creations. 🥰 I love my branding and the identity it has given me but I am (hopefully) going to be rebranding in the not-so-distant future as I have a few ideas and new products to evolve my business... watch this space! 👀

Day 7 of is "Combination"

I love it when a client comes to me with a unique idea and it's upto me to problem solve and work out how it will look from a 2D sketch to 3D model.

Here's a throwback to nearly a year ago when this lovely couple came to me with a Muppet themed design brief! They had a sketch of themselves as Muppets and wanted me to incorporate this into the topper. By combining my style with the Muppets style, I created a topper which is totally unique to the couple!

Hello to all my new followers and Happy New Year to you all! I have already broken my NY resolution of posting more on social media 🤦🏻‍♀️... but there is a good reason for that! I was away in Berlin this week with my hubby for a short city break! Here’s me jumping at the Brandenburg Gate 😂🙌🏻 . I’m 29, married and proud mumma to a blind pug called Monty who is my absolute world! (He even has his own Insta page! 😍@montytheblindpug) . Allsorts Clay was born out of my own research of cake toppers for my own wedding last year. I wanted something which unique and personalised which incorporated both our personalities (and we wanted Monty on it - he was our ring bearer! 😍) That happened last year and have been slowly building up a client base which covers ALL events - birthdays, pet portraits, name tags, baby showers - not just weddings 😊 . The cake and topper decoration... as beautiful as they may be - is usually photographed and admired for a short time before being devoured by hungry guests or thrown into an empty tupperware box for cosumption later!

Allsorts Clay was created from a love of creating bespoke cake toppers and figurines and capturing a special moment forever in polymer clay.

I have always been a creative person. I went to art school but never truly knew what I wanted to do in life... until I was proposed to!
