Smoke & Mirrors create fully interactive, bespoke murder mystery events for people who enjoy unforgettable nights out.

Some “murder mysteries” are simply downloadable packages designed for small groups playing at home; others are put on for larger parties with a few actors and a vague sense of structure. We give you a detailed and believable scenario, unforgettable set-pieces, excellent comedy, and storylines you can really get your teeth into. All our events feature a full cast of brilliant professional actors. T

hey’ll play out scenes in your midst, sit with you, talk to you, and let you interrogate them. Then there’ll be a murder (perhaps more than one), and it’ll be up to you to work who did it, why they did it, and what they did it with. We guarantee our events will be intelligent, action-packed, and great fun.

"MALICE IN WONDERLAND"
MURDER MYSTERY & HOG ROAST

The King of Hearts is dead, the Mad Hatter’s lost the March Hare, the White Rabbit is completely plastered, Alice appears to have kidnapped the Duchess’ baby, and Queenie’s on the rampage.
Dress as your favourite Wonderland Character if you like, and come and join in this fabulous event at Wilton Windmill. The ticket includes a generous hog roast buffet (with a vegetarian/vegan option), with salads and all the trimmings. There’s plenty of parking, a cash bar and it’s a fabulous setting!
There will be first-class comedy, terrific actors, a murder or two, and prizes of champagne and chocolates.

What a fantastic evening we had on Saturday in beautiful Bath! Erin’s friends were just amazing – wonderful performances, not an innuendo missed and so many laughs. Thank you ladies – you were brilliant!
Sarah took the chocolates for her fabulous Delilah and Hannah won the fizz for a near-perfect answer. Special thanks to Megan for great guest info and superb organisation. We’d love to see you again!

"Malice in Wonderland", the great Murder Mystery and Hog Roast at Wilton Windmill is ALMOST SOLD OUT!!!!

There are just 12 tickets left and when they're gone, they're gone.....

To fortify the inner sleuth, the ticket includes a generous hog roast buffet specially prepared on site (with a vegetarian option), with salads, artisan breads and rolls, mustards and all the trimmings.

There’s plenty of parking, a cash bar and it’s a fabulous setting!
And to complete the evening there will be there will be first-class comedy, terrific actors, a murder or two, programmes, clues, prizes of champagne and chocolates – and of course fully-costumed Alice in Wonderland characters as you’ve never seen them before!

On Saturday we had a lot of fun helping Aviva to celebrate her special birthday with her brilliant friends – what a great audience!! Actually it was Henry’s birthday too, so a double celebration. Performances were fabulous, but Zara topped them with her wonderful Sister Dolores – flawless accent and a great performance. Top sleuth was Carly. Thanks to you all for being so much fun!

Our detectives spent part of Easter Sunday helping Sally and her wonderful friends to celebrate her birthday. Mark organised a really brilliant, fun event which we’re sure Sally won’t forget! Clearly Vicky was a great detective as well as a fine Sister Dolores and made off with the champagne while Joe won the chocolates for his excellent Robin Graves. Thank you all for being such a great audience!

Saturday’s second event was a small-but-perfectly formed “Ancestral Vices” for Eve’s birthday and it was a riot! Huge thanks to Verity for great organisation from the very beginning and for some great guest info - fab Irish accent too! There were such brilliant performances, but the chocs finally went to Joe who segues flawlessly between Horatio and Lady Alicia. Great work! Sue was top detective – we hope you enjoyed the Champagne!

It’s always a pleasure to work at the wonderful Old Neptune in Ipswich, and Saturday’s “Bone of Contention” for Flora’s hen do was no exception! Flora’s friends turned in some amazing performances, but the chocolates finally went to Fiona for her brilliant Dame Beryl and top sleuth was Alex. Huge thanks to Lydia for great organisation and for assembling such a fabulous group!

What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Chelsi organised the most fantastic party for Harlie’s hen weekend and Harlie’s friends proved to be a stupendous audience. Emily won the chocolates for her truly unforgettable and hilarious Scarlett Dobbs while Laura was top sleuth. Huge thanks to Chelsi for finding us and to you all for being brilliant!

On Saturday we had riotous "Burying the Hatchet" at the beautiful Mill at Elstead. A fabulous setting, an amazing audience and an unbeatable atmosphere! Huge thanks to Conor for great organisation, the whole staff for being lovely and most of all to our stupendous audience for being such fun! We'll be back in the autumn, so hope to see you then.

On Friday we entertained Caroline for the third time – this time for friends and family and what a fabulous group they were! Fine acting and fine detective work!! Jo won the chocolates (amazing accent!) and Di won the fizz for a very accurate answer to whodunnit.
Special thanks too to Nick from Food by Hope (https://www.foodbyhope.com/) for being so brilliant to work with, and of course to Caroline for great organisation.
