💕📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 📢💕
Hello lovely people!
I’m writing this with a heavy but very full heart 🩷
After 5 and a half amazing years of planning and coordinating the most amazing weddings for the most amazing couples, the time has come to close the doors of Lily Jones Events/The Wedding Coven.
It is definitely not a decision I have taken lightly as LJE is my baby and I'm so proud of everything we’ve achieved but unfortunately the time has come to evaluate my workload. Not only is .weddings expanding super rapidly but I’ve also been given the opportunity to get involved in another amazing alternative wedding business.
Further to this, my health and mobility in particular has declined and I need to be more realistic about what I can manage, while also raising a family. Those of you who know me personally know that I was diagnosed with a chronic illness a few years ago and so I just don’t know how much I’ll be able to manage year on year - not the best when you’re planning weddings years in advance. The on the day management of weddings has a marked effect on me. The 16 hour days on my feet takes me several days to recover from and be able to walk again without pain. Overnight the part of the job I loved with all my heart turned into the part I dreaded.
Lily Jones Events was expanding rapidly and we reached full capacity for weddings for 2024 so it seems outrageous to close a business that was blooming but its not a decision I’ve taken lightly. I had plans to launch The Wedding Coven wedding planning club this year but my body had other ideas and then the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself. But who knows, the coven may have a place in my life in the future when life calms down.
I, of course, have weddings booked up to 2026 so I will still be planning and coordinating up until then and all my couples have been informed (they’re not getting rid of me that easily!) My final wedding will be with an amazing couple at one of my first and favourite wedding venues - Longton Wood - in 2026.
You’ll still find me running Quirky Weddings across the UK with my amazing team and this means I can dedicate more of my time and resources to continue growing Quirky! So while I’m sad, I’m also super excited for the places I can go with Quirky and the difference we can continue to make in the wedding industry! Plus more on the exciting new news soon!
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me into the wedding world with open arms and for all the support from the amazing people and businesses I’ve met along the way!
A huge thank you to the couples who trusted me with their wedding days over the last 5 years. It was an absolute pleasure to work with each and every one of you and I can end my wedding planning days confidently saying I never had a bridezilla or groomzilla to deal with! Please keep in touch 🩷
Huge thank you as well to my event staff, I absolutely couldn’t have done my job without your help and some of you have been by my side for the full 5 years! You were an absolute dream team!
Thank you to all the suppliers who worked alongside me throughout the years and especially those of you who I now call friends.
It’s time to say goodbye! But I’ll still be very much part of the wedding world and you can get in touch with me via .weddings
