Aren’t flowers clever things?! I was gifted an bulb at Christmas, it was been left on a sunny windowsill and watered once a week. Less than 2 months later it is well and truly showing off!

A little bit of Christmas wreathing!

The front door one is a biggy this year! Most of the foliage (holly and ivy) was foraged from the forest, and there was enough leftover to do another little one for the mirror over the fireplace. What a bargain!

(Other decorations added I either already had in my supplies or were courtesy of Aldi!)

Tulip trick #2
You get your lovely bunch of tulips and put them straight in a vase when you get home, right? But what if you leave them out of water for a few hours…? They become a lot more pliable (not limp!) and when you do put them in a vase they have this dramatic movement. It takes your humble little flower arrangement to a whole other level!

Does anyone remember the amaryllis from as few weeks ago? Well it grew another gorgeous stem with 3 flowers on it, but unfortunately it was too top heavy and I came down to find it had fallen off the windowsill and the flowers had broken off.

It did mean I got to group them together in a few vases, which I would have felt guilty doing if it meant cutting the stems. They lasted another week like this, aren’t they stunning?!

Happy Valentines Day you lovely lot!

Mr Moose presented me with a selection of supermarket flowers in a plastic bin this morning. He knows how to make me happy! Also meant I finally got to use this gorgeous new vase I picked up at the wholesalers for only a few pounds.
