Lighting the eighth candle tonight feels extra meaningful, don’t you think? Something about it felt out of the ordinary candle lighting we do every year. Also I really think that having this moment align with January 1st feels like a beautiful mix of spiritual renewal and new beginnings. It’s the perfect time to reflect on everything we want to bring into the year ahead.
Here’s to starting 2025 with intention, connection, and a little extra light 🫶🏽✨xx

We’re halfway through Hanukkah people! My face is going to turn into a doughnut by the end of next week ✨

A bit about Sufganiot….

Doughnuts and sufganiyot might look alike, but they’re totally different vibes. Doughnuts are an everyday classic — you can find them glazed, filled, or plain, anytime, anywhere.

Sufganiyot though, are pure Hanukkah magic. Soft, fried, usually filled with jam or custard, and dusted with powdered sugar, they’re all about celebrating the miracle of the oil that lasted eight days.

So basically, all sufganiyot are doughnuts, but not all doughnuts could ever be sufganiyot!

🌲 A Weekend at Hoots Treehouse, East Sussex 🌲

Here’s everything that made our stay at Hoots Treehouse unforgettable! 🛖💚

📍 Where to Eat:
The Lazy Fox—This charming spot is a must! Their pizza was delicious, and the pear crumble was the perfect end to the meal. Plus, they have a play area outside with beautiful field views that kept the little ones entertained. 🍕🍐

🛒 What to Buy Locally:
We stocked up on fresh local produce—highly recommend finding a nearby farm shop for eggs, cheeses, and jams to add a special local touch to your meals at the treehouse. It’s worth it for that homemade breakfast vibe! 🥚🧀🍯

🌳 What to Do at the Treehouse:
• Relax & Reconnect: There’s a cozy collection of books, space to cook easy meals, and the calming views make it all about slowing down.
• Outdoor Fun for Kids: Swings, a little playhouse, and even chickens running around give them plenty of fun right outside!
• Activities for All: Enjoy the sauna for relaxation or hit the tennis court for a friendly match. Then gather around the firepit to roast marshmallows under the stars. ⭐🔥

🍰 Village Gems Nearby:
The area is full of charming villages, like Mayfield, with adorable tea houses and bakeries to explore! Each village has its own cozy vibe, perfect for an afternoon stroll.

🚗 Day Trip Ideas:
If you’re staying more than a night, a day trip to the historic town of Rye or a walk along the stunning Eastbourne cliffs is a must. Both are just a drive away and offer breathtaking scenery and plenty to explore. 🌊🏞️

Saturday brunch holds a special place in my heart 🫶🏽 it’s a cherished family tradition that I’ve enjoyed since childhood, and I’m passionate about keeping it alive 😍In a world that increasingly values the slow living lifestyle, I wholeheartedly advocate for embracing this tradition 🙌🏼 My approach to brunch is simple ~ I typically assemble whatever ingredients I have on hand in the fridge (it’s always so random since it’s the end of the week!) without feeling pressured to make anything special (unless we’re hosting guests, of course!). A typical spread includes eggs of some sort 🍳 nice bread 🥖 assorted cheeses 🧀 something sweet 🍰(for my husband’s sweet tooth), fresh veggies 🥒 and some refreshing juice 🥤 With such a spread, we’re can easily get settled around the table for a leisurely hour or more. You gotta admit there’s something charming about spending a chilled Saturday morning at home preparing eggs in pyjama with your family 🥰
