The McMurtry Spéirling is a record breaking electric single-seat prototype car which was first presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2021. The car is developed by McMurtry Automotive, a British registered startup founded on 2 June 2016 by Sir David McMurtry. "Spéirling" is Irish for "thunderstorm"
On 26 June 2022, the Spéirling achieved a new Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb record, completing the 1.87-kilometre (1.16 mi) course in 39.08 seconds with McMurtry test driver Max Chilton behind the wheel.

The Albany Theatre in Coventry's Christmas show, 'A Christmas Carol' opens this Saturday 4th December and runs until 26th December.
I set a camera up to record a timelapse of the Theatre technical crew and volunteers putting the set up and starting to programme the lights, this week. The timelapse finishes just as the actors are taking to the stage for their first dress rehearsal - can't give away the performance!
I never realised just how much work goes into getting these shows ready for their audience 😳. I'm sorry if the music I put to it is slightly OTT but I quite like it!
This promises to be a Christmas show well worth taking all the family to - professional actors and directed by the Albany's CEO and Artistic Director, Kevin Shaw.
