LITTLE CRAFTERS SUMMER SUN SPECIAL

Let’s hope my next Little Crafters on Tuesday brings out the sunshine again at John Lewis & Waitrose Horsham🤞🏻🌞
Next week is Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year so to celebrate, we have a summer sun themed Little Crafters session!

This will be a slightly condensed version of my usual sessions, but still with all the fun and crafts! We will be creating 4x themed crafts to make and take home as well as decorating a paper bag to take your crafts home in.

No drinks or snacks are included in this session which is reflected in the price, but you are free to stay as long as you wish in Waitrose Cafe afterwards 😋 They have great lunch options for adults and kids and yummy coffee (I should know I used to work here!!! ☕️)

I hope you can join me at this new central Horsham venue, great for grabbing some shopping bits you might need or a wander round town/ John Lewis afterwards 💛

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend, looks like the rain has come back just in time for half term of course!

I have a couple of spaces left on craft workshops this week, with *1x SPACE* left on tomorrow’s Spring Paper Wreath workshop for Age Reception+

I also have *2x SPACES* left for my Little Crafters session on Friday aimed at Pre-Schoolers where the children will create a selection of Spring themed crafts with their grown ups. Older siblings are also welcome during the school holidays.

WORLD BEE DAY!

Hope you’re all having a lovely Bank Holiday weekend ☀️
All last week we celebrated at my after school club. Each week we look at a topic and country and do a creative activity linked to them. We haven’t used air dry clay there before so I thought it was a good opportunity to bring it in and let the children make their own bees ! 🐝 We talked about the importance of bees and how to look after them and the children were chuffed trying some honey and with their new pencils 🍯✏️

Adults, you can carry on the bee fun as I have a beeswax wraps making a workshop coming up at Leonardslee Gardens on Saturday 13th July🌼
Perfect if you’ve been thinking about becoming more eco-friendly and ditching the cling film!
They can be expensive to buy but are so easy to make yourself and once you know how, you’ll be addicted to wrapping everything with a fridge full of colour💙💛

INDY’S 9TH BIRTHDAY RAINBOW PARTY

It was so lovely to host a craft party for one of my regular workshop attendees and his friends for his 9th Birthday! LOVED the rainbow theme too which he decided on after coming to a rainbow craft workshop last year🌈

The children made these watercolour and ‘spray paint’ rainbow cloud hangings which I’m definitely thinking I need to do as a workshop again! ⛅️ As well as rainbow friendship bracelets 🤝 One girl even managed to squeeze in her name and her sisters onto her bracelet too 🫶🏻

🌻Lots coming up next month for half term!🌻

Bookings now live for Kids Workshops for a morning of paper wreath making and afternoon of spring garden creating* (or they can stay all day with a break for lunch & games) on Weds 29th May.

Then Little Crafters on Fri 31st May with a Spring theme. Older siblings will be welcome and can either join in and pay the sibling price or come along for free and I’ll have some colouring for them.

*photo shows a ‘winter’ garden, ours will be more spring themed!

You can also purchase a pass of 6 sessions with the kids workshops which saves £2.50 per session and can be used across multiple dates.

GRACE’S TAYLOR SWIFT 7TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!

I had the pleasure of hosting my son’s classmate’s 7th Birthday party yesterday with Taylor Swift themed crafts! ✂️

I love a new theme and this one was certainly fun to research 🤩 with Taylor’s previous campaigns with Keds, we decided on decorating white pumps as the main craft. The girls designed their shoes on paper first before committing to their pumps. They looked fab and they were so focused on them, I think they could have spent another hour doing them!

For the mini craft, they made bracelets with their names or Swiftie’s lyrics on and some of the girls made them for each other too which was so sweet ☺️

I also managed to find some TS stickers, so they went to town with those on their brown bags ready to take all their new goodies home in 👏🏻

Now, I wonder if they’ll be wearing them for PE this week?! 🤔

CHLOE’S 7TH BIRTHDAY CRAFTY PARTY

🥳 A lovely morning spent crafting with Chloe & her friends today for her 7th Birthday!

✂️ We kicked off with T-Shirt decorating and one of the girls is heading to Disneyland soon so is excited to wear her personalised T-Shirt then! ✨I love how they all show their individual personalities and interests 👏🏻

🤝The girls then decorated their paper bags before creating their own friendship bracelets to wear with their names on ☺️

📆 I’m now booked up for parties until the end of May so it’s never to early to secure your date if your little one would like a crafty party 🎉

PS just a bit jealous that Chloe and her family can walk from the gate in their back garden to the amazing Cuckfield padding pool! 😮💧

🛠️ ALWAYS TRYING TO IMPROVE 🛠️

Sometimes when you’re thick of it, you forget how far you’ve come!

This is my current version of an anniversary hoop aimed at couples’ 2nd Wedding Anniversary which is cotton 🧵 it’s a fabric map with a heart stitched over where they got married and the date, finished with a velvet ribbon 🎀

Swipe to see my original version that I made for S nearly 8 years ago now! I thought of the idea because I did something similar with stitching on a map at University but I have improved it so much since then. I have better transfer paper to print on and have added more finishing touches like the velvet ribbon and it is backed with felt now too. I won’t show you the back of my original one! 😂

Anyway, it got me thinking of how I’m always trying to think of ways to improve things, like adding .button.ups to my Everlasting Floral Hoop workshops, mini bins to my Little Crafters tables (kids love them!) new colouring activities to my kids craft days and I’m now looking at adding large foam mats underneath the Little Crafters table to help the grown ups when they’re kneeling down! ✂️

Is there anything else you can think of improving/ changing? Feedback is so helpful and I don’t ask for it enough!

Afternoon Everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

🌸 I’m looking at moving my Kids Mother’s Day workshop at Leonardslee from the Saturday to ON Mothers Day (10th March) so people can make a day of it and have a wander round the gardens and enjoy a hot drink whilst the kids are crafting in the morning.

The rain didn’t dampen our spirits today as spring came early with an Everlasting Floral Hoop Workshop at !

I love how they all come out so differently, even with the same stencils and materials. There were even some new techniques/ designs we’ve not done before 👏🏻
