My latest collection is inspired by vintage glamour and luxury fabrics and each piece is individually created with your special occasion in mind .After working in the fast paced fashion industry for over 20 years it has always been a dream to create an exclusive collection of garments which will be treasured . Specialising in wraps, boleros, capes, bridesmaids and evening dresses made for your sp

ecial event. In 2012, the Sewing Academy was also born following the increasing demand of people wanting to learn or improve their sewing skills. It now brings me great pleasure to share my knowledge through my courses, workshops and private sessions.

Back to normal studio life after this weekends charity event.
Some tricky alterations coming in to start 2025 including shortening this beauty. Thankfully not the entire train, but the front of the dress has the same intricate detail.

I received a phone call from a gentleman who had searched everywhere for someone to help with his last minute request and even though we were on a night before deadline I had to assist with this one.
A tradition between him and his wife was to gift a tree decoration to each other every year on the 1st of December (I 🤍 LOVE 🤍 that)
The brief was to embroider his families names on this little fairy and to do that she needed a new dress which I was happy to help with.
I adored every minute of creating this and it has inspired me to design my own little fairy range for next year with the option of a bride using her dress offcuts to make something magical.
Wedding dresses and fairies....I might just have the best job ever!

The Christmas Gift Appeal for Manchester Childrens Hospital is being arranged for next Sunday at the studio.
As lots of you are heading out shopping today and have messaged asking for suggestions , here are a few ideas especially for the teens who often get overlooked.

Teens:
Fluffy socks, snuggly blankets, lip balms, toiletries, Costa Coffee Vouchers available from £5 (to use at on site Cafe) Amazon and online vouchers
Amazon Prime is great as they can then order to be delivered to the hospital .
Treat snacks

Children:
Toys, books, craft and art sets, pjs, snuggly blankets

Please don't worry about wrapping gifts as we will take care of that and no gift is too small as we can put items together .

What a gorgeous and uplifting surprise to receive these on the studio doormat today .
Receiving feedback, reviews and recommendations is the lifeblood of any small business and nothing comes close to that feeling of knowing I've played a small part in creating your bridal vision... especially on a day filled with Tax returns, admin and cleaning !

2025 Bookings
Today is a great day to get in touch if you still need to secure an appointment for Bridal Alterations throughout 2025, as I am currently working on the diary.

Booking well in advance is advised , however work doesn't generally start on your dresses until around 8 weeks before the wedding date. I often speak to brides who are on a fitness plan and worry about booking in too soon.
The secret is for us to make the best plan together and ensure everything runs smoothly with regards to timings, especially throughout peak season.

Timescales
: Your initial consultation at the studio should be scheduled 3 months before the wedding. During this appointment we will just discuss requirements and finalise a quotation.This ideally needs to be booked in the diary as soon as possible to ensure availability (upto 12 months in advance)
: First fits are generally 8 weeks prior to the wedding.
: Most brides need an average of 2/3 fits depending on the complexity of alterations.
: Your final fit will be scheduled 10-14 days before the big day to ensure we get the Perfect Fit ❤️

So much love for this look .
A NYC wedding of dreams for Emily and her partner Ant.
Emily wore a stunning Grace Loves Lace dress from Love Bridal Boutique and danced around the New York streets like a film star .
Adjustments were made at the studio to achieve dress perfection and also gave Emily the opportunity to really consider the styling and her accessories in preparation for the photos with
Clean lines, classic and contemporary styling .

I am delighted to bring this new course to the schedule as many of you have requested it over the years.
We all have items in our wardrobes that need a few adjustments , but even small alterations can sometimes prove tricky.
As we enter a time where many of us are looking to upcycle and remodel our wardrobes, this new course will help you develop your skills and save money in the long term.

What you will learn:

:During the morning there wil be a tutorial covering the most popular adjustments and how to undertake them

Including, lifting shoulders, taking in, Shortening sleeves/hems, reshaping garments and minor repairs.

The afternoon will give you the opportunity to work on some of your own garments with my guidance. You will be invited to bring in projects to either amend or upcycle.
* These will be pre-discussed with you individually to ensure they are achievable

Please note : You will need to have good basic sewing skills to participate and bring your own sewing machine on the day.
