So, not sure if you heard the news but the “lovely” people at Southend-on-Sea City Council revoked Sunrooms² licence yesterday. The same council that was recently granted city status but it seems still has a town mentality 😖After all the hard work and money the new owners have put into the place, especially from a health and safety aspect, the council pulled the licence over a tiny oversight in the layout drawings. I am absolutely furious and so should you be too if you live in the “City”. Southend used to be famed for its vibrant clubs has really lost the heart and soul of its nightlife economy over the past 10 years with so many establishments closing down.
The Sunrooms owners have had to reapply for a temporary license which will kick in next Saturday. Sunnies will be open and we will be ready to dance again. We would really appreciate it if you could join us at the venue in solidarity to show the council how precious this venue is to us ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼 Exact timings to be shared soon.
