I am an artisan florist and work from my own cutting garden based in Warlingham, Surrey. I supply beautiful British flowers and foliage in country-inspired natural arrangements and bouquets that I have sown and raised to ensure consistent quality and original seasonal combinations. Each purchase is worked uniquely for you while I also design arrangements of British flowers for parties, events, home decor, flower stalls and funerals. If there is a need for any additional blooms, I source these from other members of the Flowers from the Farm network of British growers. Every bouquet and arrangement is totally fresh and always British. All my arrangements are made using natural methods, I no longer use any floral foam because of its impact on the environment. Flower growing is my passion which has grown from years of experimenting with new and unique blooms that last well after cutting, alongside growing all of those scented and glorious favourites. If you, like me, love fabulous British flowers and want to know what this season has to offer, contact me on [email protected]

Every year, I plant Anemonies and Ranunculus in the bigger greenhouse beds as an early crop, and then in June once they have finished flowering, I take them out for a second crop. This year, I’m experimenting with White & Apricot Limonium (statice) and some Dusty Miller. It looks like both of them are loving the space. Limonium is great used in a dried flower wreath.

I ended up planting the new Narcissus I had bought a little later than planned this year because I got caught up with other tasks in the garden. As a result ‘Thalia’ and ‘Pink Charm’ have only just bloomed. Although they are late, I am pleased to see them flower this year. In this arrangement, I have combined ‘Thalia’ and ‘Pink Charm’ with Hesperis, Geum flowers & seed heads along with Honeysuckle buds, and variegated Pittosporum.

It’s another bank holiday weekend washout with rain predicted all day interfering with my planting plans. 😩
However, I have managed to plant out the next succession of Rannunclus into an old Veg Trug that has been passed onto me.
I can expect flowers from these Ranunculus in approximately 3 weeks time, while the ones planted in the greenhouse back in February will likely bloom in about a week.

Over the past week, the garden has moved on a lot. The greenhouse Anemones have begun to bloom, and other plants throughout the garden are also starting to flower. The Aqualeiga, Hesperis, Viburnum Opulus, and Rannunclus are all looking quite lovely. With a little more sunshine, the beds will be filled with beautiful flowers.

Today, I’m hiding from the rain while completing an order for a dried flower wreath. My very lazy old rescue whippets are keeping me company. Later, I’ll be getting muddy as I plant out young seedlings, but at least I won’t need to water them in!

My garden is flourishing, but it’ll be early/mid April before I have a good supply of flowers to offer as bunches.
In the meantime, mixing my homegrown flowers & foliage with those from Cornwall makes a great combination.
Here is a mix of garden Hellebores, P***y Willow, Senico, Pittosporum, and Eucalyptus paired with Cornish Heather, Tulips, and Daffs.

The daylight hours are getting longer, and my to-do list keeps growing! Today I spent time sowing the half-hardy annual seeds. Tomorrow, I’ll be repotting the seedlings that were sown earlier this year, focusing on the Helichrysums.

I’ve had these beautiful hellebores from the nearby garden center on my patio for a whole week now, and I’m absolutely amazed by the number of bees they’ve attracted. I just counted 12 bees buzzing around the flowers. It’s quite unusual for this time of year I guess, but I must say, it’s a nice surprise! Hopefully if the weather is good at the weekend, I’ll be adding the hellebores to the shady beds at the back of the garden along with some Leucothoe, Ferns and Daffs.

Making willow bases for wreaths is something I really enjoy. It's so therapeutic and having a stock of them ready to use is always beneficial.
These particular bases were crafted using freshly cut green willow.
The larger ones will be perfect for creating fresh spring wreaths, while the smaller ones will be dressed with dried flowers.
Looking for a willow wreath for your home floristry project? The larger wreath size (aprrox 30-32cms) is priced at £10. For more information direct message for availability.

In June of last year, I made the choice to sow more Lunaria annua (Honesty) seeds because of their usefulness. My main purpose for growing them is to have beautiful seed heads that I can use in my dried flower wreaths. The seeds germinated successfully and the plants are flourishing, so I’m feeling positive about having a bountiful harvest! bouquets

I hung this natural woodland style wreath on my shed wall while I was working outside making Christmas wreaths. It has endured quite a soaking over the past few weeks, but now it’s indoors and adorned with fairy lights. It will bring some brightness to the hallway for the next few weeks before I move it back outside to a dry spot for as long as it can last.

I have not grown many sunflowers this year, instead I have opted to increase my stocks of Rudbeckias as I find the smaller heads are easier to work with.
However, I did treat myself to a perennial Sunflower plant and I’m really pleased with it. The plant has grown to over 6ft, is very healthy and is sending up lots of blooms.
Today is the first day of cutting so I will find out how long the vase life is.
I think they look fab in my sunflower jug, what do you think?
